Family Reunion 2011

On Friday afternoon we packed up the car and headed south to my Grandparents' house in Two Egg, Florida.  Every year around this time, we have our annual Hart family reunion.  It's always a lot of fun and everyone looks forward to it.  It took us about 8 hours to get to my Grandparents' house, so it was after midnight when we arrived on Friday night.  Kyndall did pretty good in the car, until about the last hour when she decided she was just DONE and had a little meltdown.  I think she definitely realized the difference in this trip, versus our usual 6 hour trip to Tallahassee/Thomasville.  I don't think the terrible weather we endured the last hour helped much either!  Nonetheless, we arrived and enjoyed a wonderful weekend with lots of great family time! 

This year my Grandparents did a fish fry, which is my favorite!!!  I'm pretty sure I ate my body weight in cheese grits and hush puppies---two of my biggest weaknesses!  Aside from enjoying the food, we also spent a LOT of time in the shade of the big pecan tree and in the pool!  To say it was hot would be an understatement!  Shockingly, I didn't take as many pictures as I usually do, so I'm borrowing a few of these from my Mom's cousin Randy.

My sweet Granddaddy, who turns 80 this coming weekend!  To celebrate his birthday, he'll be leaving on Friday to live out one of his lifelong dreams---hiking the Appalachian trail!  Amazing!!!!

Even though it was a short trip for us, we wouldn't have missed it for anything!  And to make it even better, Sunday was my Grandma's birthday and since we were staying with them, we got to spend some good quality time with her on her special day before packing up and heading back home.  It was a great weekend!
