It's the Little Things.......

One of the things I look forward to most about the Christmas season is designing and sending out our family's Christmas cards.   It's a simple pleasure that brings me so much joy!  As much as I love sending them, I also love receiving them.  I practically wait by the window everyday, watching for the mail to come.  I proudly display each and every one of them, and I love walking by and admiring them.  It may sound silly to you, but it's something I love to do.  I heard of an idea that I think I'll do this year with the cards I receive.  Once Christmas is over, I'll put all of the cards into a basket.  Each night, we will pull out a card and we'll pray for that particular family.  I think it will be a neat way to keep our family and friends close at heart, as well as teach Kyndall the importance of praying for others.

I haven't received many cards yet, but once I get a pretty good collection, I'll post a picture of them.  For now, here's what our family's card looked like this year.........

My sister took the pictures for us, and I had a LOT to choose from!  Here are a few more of my favorites that didn't make the card........

I loved this one, but look closely at the bottom of the picture and you'll see the neighbor's CAT who decided to walk right in front of the camera!!!

Notice the silver strand of beads she's holding?  No, they're not supposed to be a cute prop---You might recognize them from the pictures above, as part of my outfit.  Oh the things you'll do for the sake of a good picture!!

..........And the beads are now broken.........

In case you can't tell, getting the perfect family picture isn't easy with a toddler in the mix!  I can't wait to see what I get in my mailbox this year!!!

  3. I noticed the beads when I got your card and thought it was adorable that she was playing with the beads that you undoubtedly had around your neck only minutes before! It is precious and you can tell her that story when she is older - makes a picture MUCH more interesting to me if there is a story like that or something about it that makes it unique and not cookie-cutter...might not be anything anyone else would notice but is unique and I love unique!!! :) love it!!!
