Kyndall's First Dental Check Up

Today was an exciting day, especially for this dental hygienist Mommy!  Kyndall had her very first dental check up and cleaning and much to my surprise, she did GREAT!!!!  I've been both excited and nervous for this day, due mostly to the fact that she isn't very cooperative when it comes to brushing her teeth at home.  It's a battle EVERY SINGLE DAY.

My friend Brooke was her hygienist and thankfully Kyndall cooperated PERFECTLY for her!  Brooke was able to do everything she needed to do and Kyndall didn't fuss even once.  In fact, she giggled through most of it!  It just goes to show you kids always cooperate better for others!  It was the same story when I was the hygienist and those stressed out Mamas would bring their little ones to me.  Those little heathens were somehow transformed into perfect little angels when they sat in my chair!  Funny how that happens!  =)

Y'all know I was THAT Mama who walked in armed with my big 'ole camera on my shoulder ready to document this momentous occasion!

Excited!!

Brooke gave her several choices of prophy paste flavors and she chose chocolate.  YUCK!  But, she said it was "yummy"

Thumbs up for a great job!

Dr. Glenn came in and took a look and said everything looked pretty good.  She's got two places on her primary molars that are a little soft, so we'll just keep a close watch on them for now and give them lots of extra attention with the toothbrush from now on!!

Once she was finished, it was my turn.  She was very interested in everything that was going on, asking TONS of questions in typical Kyndall fashion.  I think they would've given her a job if she had been of age.  By the time I got out of the chair, I found her across the hall "helping" one of the assistants develop some x-rays for another patient!  Her curiosity never stops!  Maybe she'll follow in my footsteps and go to dental hygiene school.....or better yet, dental school!

She was very proud of her new toothbrush and her super hero sticker that she chose all on her own (the super hero obsession continues....)

Since it was almost lunchtime when we finished up, I decided to just let her skip school and spend the rest of the day running errands with me.  I treated her to a Chcik-Fil-A lunch and some play time on the CFA playground.  She was a happy girl!

Just for fun, here are a few pictures from the summer of 2011 when I took Kyndall to visit my former co-workers at Dr. Leadbeater's office in Tallahassee.  Here she is at 10 months old, sitting in my old operatory.......

My baby is growing up!!! =(
