Girls Weekend and a Goodbye

Thursday morning my sister flew in from Tallahassee and spent the next three days having some much needed girl time with me, Kyndall and my Mom.  I was excited to see her and especially excited to see how much her baby bump had grown since April, when I saw her last!  Baby Wyatt is growing fast and next time I see her, she'll probably be holding him in her arms!  Weird!!

As always, several thoughtful friends from back home sent sweet gifts via Kelly for me and Kyndall.  Mrs. Gloria sent me this Origami Owl charm for my necklace and I think it might be my favorite one so far!  PERFECT!

Mrs. Gloria also made this cute shirt for Kyndall!

Sweet Mrs. Bunnee sent another treat---monogrammed PJs!  If there's one thing I can't live without, it's my PJs!  I would wear them 24/7 if it was socially acceptable!  =)  These will also be perfect for my time in the hospital.  No ugly blue gown for me--I'll be the most stylish patient on the transplant floor!

Friday morning we headed out for a girls day, beginning with a yummy lunch at my FAVORITE "girly" place, Dumplins!  Kelly had never been so I was excited for her to try it.

But first a few pictures of my 3 favorite ladies (plus Wyatt).....

After a delicious lunch at Dumplins, Kelly decided on a whim to get all of her hair chopped off!  So, off to the salon she went and walked out with 10 inches gone.  It looks super cute and it will be perfect for summer and for Mommyhood, which is fast approaching.

Later that night Mom, Kelly and I set off for the Britt Nicole concert which I bought VIP tickets for a few months back.  I gave them the tickets as Mother's Day gifts and just crossed my fingers that I'd I would still be in Jackson to follow through with it.  Making it to this concert was my second "goal", aside for being at Kyndall's dance recital.  Now that all of my goals have been met, I say bring on that liver!

We were treated very well as VIP guests, which included preferred parking, front row seating, a Chick-Fil-A buffet (my idea of HEAVEN!), and a meet and greet with Britt Nicole!

Here's our official meet and greet picture with BN, just before the concert

The event was put on by my friend Joy Greene of Joytime Ministries.  Joy gave a fantastic message, as always!!

Check out Joy's website and blog HERE!

When the sun went down, Britt Nicole came back out and put on an awesome show

Teenage girls EVERYWHERE!

Thankfully the rain held off until the VERY last song and then the skies let loose and it came a flood!  It was a funny sight seeing all those people dashing to their cars, but I'm so glad it wasn't until the very end!  Perfect timing for sure.

Saturday morning we met up with my BFF Glory for another girl's day at you guessed it, Dumplins.....AGAIN!  Come visit me in Jackson and I'll take you there too!  =)  Matthew kept Kyndall for the afternoon while Mom, Kelly and I did some major shopping.  We hit lots of stores in search of maternity clothes for Kelly and adorable little baby goodies for Wyatt.  By the end of the day Kelly's poor feet were so swollen she could barely walk, but we did have a good time and got some great deals!  We met Matthew and Kyndall for dinner at a Hibachi place and Kyndall was completely fascinated by the fire and the overall entertainment.  She wouldn't eat the food, but sure enjoyed watching it being cooked right in front of her.

Sunday morning was church, and it was Kelly's first time attending one of our services at Englewood.  It was also our new pastor's very first Sunday so it was great timing.

I begged her to remove the Frozen themed sticker from her right arm, but she wouldn't budge on it.  I'm learning to choose my battles.....especially on Sunday mornings when tensions seem to run high for some reason anyway!

Sadly, this morning both my Mom and sister left and headed home to Tallahassee.  Mom has been here for two months so it was very hard to let her go.  She has been such a big help and I've also enjoyed the company everyday and having someone to talk to.  But, there are exciting and important things awaiting her back at home like baby showers for Kelly and lots of other exciting events surrounding baby Wyatt's arrival.  It's weird to think that the next time I see both my sister and my Mom, not only will Kelly have a baby in her arms but I will (hopefully, surely) have a new liver in my body.  I'm sad to be missing out on all of these exciting events like showers, ultrasound appointments and ultimately baby Wyatt's arrival but for now I'm being forced to stay put where I am.  However......  =) ..... I have an appointment this Thursday in Nashville with my liver team and I plan to plead my case to them and beg for their "blessings" to let me go home for just a very short weekend so that I can at least make it to Kelly's baby shower.  We'll see what they say.....

As soon as we said our sad goodbyes to Mom and Kelly around 7:30 a.m., Kyndall and I quickly got dressed and dashed off to her first day of Vacation Bible School at our church!  This is the first year she's been old enough and just as I expected, she LOVED it!  VBS at Englewood is a BIG, BIG deal!  They literally have thousands of kids show up and it's always a good time.  I was excited that Kyndall was able to participate this year.  She came home talking about being a detective and a spy and singing songs that go along with the "Agency D3" theme.  I used to love VBS as a kid so it's just as fun for me to re-live it as it is for her to experience it for the first time.  Here she is just before we left the house.  She's excited----can you tell??

Looking forward to a fun but quiet week ahead.....we miss you already, Grammy!  And Aunt Kelly too!
