Silver Linings

As I said in my last post, there were several silver linings to the fact that my transplant didn't take place as we had hoped.  The biggest one was that I was able to spend some unexpected time with my family and my brand new nephew, Wyatt.  (If you'll remember, Wyatt isn't even supposed to be born yet, but he turned one month old while they were here!)

It was almost midnight when we all finally got back to our house Sunday night, but that didn't stop Kyndall from wanting to love on her baby cousin.  This was the first time she had ever seen him! (He was in  NICU when we visited Tallahassee and Kyndall wasn't allowed in)

For some reason she just couldn't get over how teeny tiny his ears were!

Since before he was even born she's been talking about how she wants to feed baby Wyatt a bottle.  She finally got to do that!

Please excuse the excessive number of pictures I took of Wyatt.  I don't think I got a single photo of myself, Matthew or my Dad while they were here because I was so enthralled with my sweet nephew and all things BABY!

I love a fresh, clean baby!!

Monday was really the only day we had with my in-laws and my Dad because they all left early Tuesday morning to head back home due to work obligations.  We all went to lunch that day while Matthew was at work.....

That night we had an impromptu pizza party dinner for my Father-in-Law's upcoming birthday.  Kyndall was in charge of the cake.....

 That's some serious concentration!

After half the family left on Tuesday morning, my Mom, Kelly, Wyatt, Kyndall and I spent the rest of the week doing a lot of this......

One morning Kyndall called us all up to her playroom to show us something she had made.  We were quite  impressed at how well she replicated the character on this card!  Not bad for a 3 year old!

I enjoyed spending time with Wyatt and getting my baby fix.  I've had major baby fever lately and I'm not sure if having him here for a week made it better or worse!

Seeing things like this definitely made it worse!  She is such a good big cousin and would make such a great big sister!

I helped Kelly with the night shift one evening and though I was tired the next morning it actually made me miss those late nights!

Another silver lining was that I had the opportunity to spend some much needed BFF time with my Glory before she moved away on Saturday.  I'll have more on that in another post but here are a few pictures from our last few days together.

Glory actually spent several nights with us last week since her husband and daughter had already began the journey to Texas and she was staying behind to finish up loose ends.  She needed a place to stay and since my Mom and sister love her as much as I do, it made for some fun memories!  I even kept her up past 10 pm which is a miracle in and of itself!

Loving on Wyatt and getting some good practice for when her adoption takes place.  I can't believe she's about to be a new Mommy again!

Kyndall is crazy over Glory!

We also enjoyed one final lunch at our favorite restaurant, Dumplin's.

Despite my disappointment regarding the false alarm, it turned out to be a very good week.  I was able to spend some precious quality time with the people I love most and as I mentioned in my previous post, it looks as if I'll be here to take Kyndall to her first day of school next week, which is also a praise!  Things always work out how they should and this was no exception.

Mom, Kelly and Wyatt left to go home on Friday morning and that afternoon I headed to Memphis for the Beth Moore Living Proof Live conference with my Englewood girls.  I was sad to see them go but they'll be back in less than a month for Kyndall's birthday!
