Our cruise ship returned to Florida just in time for us to make our way from Orlando to Tallahassee to celebrate my nephew Wyatt's 2nd birthday the next day. We don't get to see our family as often as we'd like but I will never ever miss a birthday party for my one and only nephew!
Wyatt is into Mickey Mouse lately which I find funny because Kyndall was completely obsessed with his counterpart, Minnie, when she was two. Her 2nd birthday party was Minnie Mouse themed. Seems like that was just yesterday!
The party was held at the church that my family has attended since I was Kyndall's age and my sister did a great job of decorating and getting all the details just right.
My parents had this sweet little table made for Wyatt as a special birthday gift
Wyatt is not a fan of my camera, as you will see. However, he was very happy this day and gave lots of smiles--just not in front of the lens!
Sweet cousins

Check out these kicks....
The floating Mickey balloon as a big hit
Michael, Kelly and Wyatt
At one point I looked over to see my Dad having a full out conversation with floating Mickey. If you know David Kirkland, this will not surprise you!
Grammy and G-Daddy with Kyndall and Wyatt
Once the guests arrived, so did Mickey himself!
I failed to get any pictures of myself with the birthday boy and I also didn't get any pictures of him opening all of his gifts. Take my word for it--He got LOTS of loot and was a very happy boy at the end of the day!
Wyatt--Aunt Sissy cannot believe that you're already two years old. It seems like just yesterday that I made the decision to "break the rules" and ultimately break my leash while on the transplant list and make a trip to Tallahassee for your arrival. Missing a possible call for surgery would have been disappointing, but missing your entrance into this would would have been devastating. I didn't make it quite in time because you came faster than everyone expected, but I will never forget our very first meeting in the NICU when you were only a few hours old. I had never seen or held a baby as tiny as you were but I knew from our first meeting that you were a fighter and I had no doubts you would prove to be strong willed. You've certainly made me a proud Aunt Sissy over these past two years and I have loved watching you grow and learn and develop into a smart, funny, sensitive little boy. I only wish I was able to see you more often.
Once the party was over we ended the night with a treat from one of my favorite places in Tallahassee--Big Easy Snowballs!
By Sunday morning it was time to pack up and make our way back to Tennessee. Having a couple of days with my family was a great way to end our summer vacation. Now it was back to Tennessee and back to the business of selling our house and preparing to move. Boooooo.
