Dancing into 34

This year my birthday fell on the same weekend as Kyndall's winter dance recital.  That didn't bother me because there's no gift I'd rather receive than seeing my beautiful girl doing what she loves.

It was a little sad this year not having family there since we usually have quite the entourage, but we also understand it's a very long way to come for basically a 4 minute performance.  Kyndall didn't mind though and was very excited for her turn on the stage.

Waiting backstage for her turn....

Kyndall and her friend Lilly

If you've never been backstage at a dance recital or competition, it's basically mass chaos!

Our tiny dancer danced her heart out and did a fantastic job!  We were so proud of her!
She's on the far left in these pictures...

Again in this video she's on the far left...

Back up on stage for the finale....

Kyndall with Adara, who is one of her best friends in her kindergarten class at school

We were so proud of our dancing queen!

That afternoon Matthew and Kyndall surprised me with some birthday goodies

Kyndall even had Daddy help her hang this banner for me

Lots of sweet gifts

Kyndall made and wrapped this one herself--Which is why it's in a Valentine's Day bag!  She was so proud of it, though.

It was supplies out of her craft room for an art project that she and I would do together....So sweet!

A little birthday photo shoot before heading out to dinner

I love the glow of the Christmas tree but I definitely think next year we'll be investing in a much taller one to accommodate our new home's VERY tall ceilings!  Ha!

We met up with my friend Ashlie and her family for dinner at one of our favorite places in Rockwall.  Ashlie and I have a lot more than just our name in common--We also share a birthday and we also both recently had liver transplants.  We were introduced and became friends in Jackson but this past year BOTH of our husbands were transferred to Dallas.  We truly live parallel lives and I am so thankful for her sweet friendship.

Not exactly sure what was going on at the other end of the dinner table, but needless to say these two are buddies.

We ended the night back at home by eating birthday cake and watching Kyndall's favorite Christmas movie, Elf.  It was a perfect day!

I received many sweet calls, texts and cards but this thoughtful surprise from my dear friend Kelly back in Jackson topped them all.  Who knew you could have cupcakes in a mason jar delivered right to someone's front door??  Even the spoons were included! Love it!

34 sounds so old to me and if I'm being honest, it even feels old many days!  However, I vowed never to dread or complain about a birthday ever again since it wasn't too long ago when I wasn't sure how many I'd have left.  I am so thankful to be blessed with another year to enjoy this amazing life I've been given.  I never would have dreamt 34 to look the way it does for me, but even if I could I wouldn't change a thing....except maybe the part about moving to Texas!

I'm excited to see what adventures and surprises 34 holds for me!
