As they say, "time flies when you're having fun"......'twas so true of our two weeks in Tallahassee. By the day after Easter, it finally hit me that we were in our final few days of "vacation". We would be flying out on Wednesday, so I planned to do a few more fun things before saying goodbye to my favorite place.
I had several lunch dates with friends, made an appearance at Dr. Leadbeater's office to visit my former co-workers, enjoyed one final lunch with my Mom, and even made up that girls night out that I missed due to Kyndall's trip to the ER! (Well, sort of---I was only able to go to dinner with Betsy, but that's still better than nothing! Hope to see the rest of you girls on my next visit!!!)
Around Tuesday I realized that I had forgotten to do one VERY important thing. Remember that Easter Bunny basket that Kyndall never got?? Whoops! It had been sitting in my Mom's dining room since the night before Easter and I completely forgot about it! Talk about major Mommy guilt! Like I said, it's a good thing she's too young to realize, otherwise she'd surely have thought the Easter Bunny skipped her house this year. =( Better late than never, I perfectly positioned the bucket of goodies so that when she came downstairs from her nap on Tuesday afternoon they would be waiting for her. Her eyes lit up as she exclaimed "TREATS"! and immediately began searching through her treasures. She held each one up and proudly showed it to me, as if to say just how much she truly appreciated every single one of the little trinkets I picked out for her. (Just pour on the guilt, why dontcha?!)
As is typical, she went straight for the brightly colored "pops" first
Right away, she wanted to try out her new paint set, so we headed outside and she began working on her masterpiece
I'm pretty sure we're gonna have a lefty in the family........
So proud!
Freaking out a little when she realized she had paint on her hands =)
(She's my child, and yes I know I made her to be this way! I can't help it!)
Matthew and I had been talking to Kyndall about riding on an airplane for weeks, in hopes that she would be excited about her first flight and prepared for this new experience. To say she was excited is a huge understatement---she was READY! Every time she spotted a plane in the sky, she would talk about how she wanted to "wide a pwane wight now". So, the night before our flight I pulled out her life-like toy plane and started talking specifics about what was going to happen the next day. We talked about saying goodbye to Grammy and G-Daddy, giving away our suitcases, walking through machines that take pictures of us, waiting our turn in line, sitting in a seat, wearing a seat belt, and going "really, really fast". She seemed to really "get it" so I didn't have any reservations about the flight at all. Plus, it would only be an hour and a half, so how bad could it REALLY be??
Here she is playing make-believe with her toy plane on the eve of her first flight! She was super excited!!
Check back later for pictures and stories about her first experience on an airplane!
OMG...can't believe you didn't put the flight pics in this post...ugh...now I have to wait!!!
