First Day of School 2013--2014

Hello my faithful blog readers!!  I'm finally back and oh, how I have missed you!!  The past 6 weeks since my surgery have been CrAzY, but I'll share MUCH more about all of that in my next post.

The OCD-ness in me can't stand the fact that 1.) I haven't blogged about my surgery or my recovery and it's now been over SIX WEEKS......and 2.) I pride myself on keeping my posts in chronological order and obviously, this post throws that completely out the window.  BUT....Today was the first day of school and I am just too excited to hold onto these pictures any longer!  Plus, I know the Grandparents are waiting patiently to see them!

We moved to Jackson this past January and Kyndall started pre-school for the first time in February.  However, this is her first FULL year, and I couldn't be more excited!  Something about the beginning of a new school year is just so thrilling to me!  She will be at our church, Englewood Baptist, in the Parents' Day Out program which is every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 until 2:30.  It's the perfect amount of time each week for her to get the socialization that she needs, as well as great preparation for Kindergarten.  (Plus, it gives me a much needed break to get things done around the house, run my errands or even just have a little bit of time to myself.)  I was amazed at how much she blossomed from February to May during this past school year, so I had no hesitations about re-enrolling her for this year.

Here are a few pictures that I snapped this morning as we were getting ready to walk out the door for her first day.  I've been talking this day up for a few weeks now, so to say that she was excited would be the understatement of the year.  She's been waiting for this day for a very long time and she was THRILLED when I woke her up this morning!

On our way!!

Posing for a few more pictures outside of the church.....

Matthew surprised her by meeting us there and walking her in for her first day.  He's a good Daddy!  =)

I definitely don't get the award for "best dressed Mom" on the first day, but then again which of these other Mamas had a major organ yanked out of them six weeks ago?!  I'll get there!  =)

One last hug in the hallway!

She walked right in, found herself a puzzle and waved goodbye to us!  So proud of her!

She has a great teacher again this year, Mrs. Lila, who has been teaching at Englewood for 11 years.  I think Kyndall will really like her, but she is still a little confused why our beloved "Mrs. Dory" (Mrs. Glory) isn't her teacher anymore!  We love you, Glory!!  I don't think anyone will ever live up to you in the eyes of Kyndall!  =)

When I picked her up, Mrs. Lila said she had a great first day, so we grabbed a couple of Coke Icees on the way home to celebrate!  I'll take any excuse for an Icce, ya know!

Here's a video I took this morning of Kyndall talking about her first day.  She's a little wound up so it's kind of hard to understand what she's saying but it's still pretty cute!
