More Snow!

We've had several snow days over the past few months here in Jackson, but NOTHING like what we woke up to this morning!  As Kyndall said "It's like we're inside one of those shaker balls". (A snow globe)  Everything looked SO beautiful and peaceful when we awoke this morning, as a blanket of white covered the ground, the trees and everything in between.....and I do mean EVERYTHING!  Snow continued to fall pretty heavily all day, which made it even more fun.  Normally by the time we wake up, it's stopped snowing and the snow is already starting to melt.  But not today!  I'm not sure exactly how much snow we got, but I'd estimate at least a half a foot, if not more!  So, it will be a few days before we have to say goodbye to the fluffy white stuff.

Schools were closed (and they are again tomorrow) and Matthew even shut down operations at his terminal, which NEVER NEVER happens!  The roads were just too icy and dangerous for his drivers to be out making deliveries, so he returned home about lunchtime and that was a great treat because it meant he got to enjoy the snow along with us!

All bundled up and ready to play!

Beach buckets and shovels.....that's how FLORIDA girls play in the snow!!

Catching snowflakes on her tongue  (Side note---She kept calling them "frozen fractals" and I had no idea what she was talking about.  Then it hit me---The theme song from Frozen!  This kid is WAY too smart!!!)

Making a snow angel and giggling uncontrollably

The view from our front porch.  Can you find the road?!  Me either!

Looking down our street

The snow was extra thick and piled high right outside of the garage door.  I suppose the wind blew it up into a mound, kind of like a sand dune.  Kyndall used it as a balance beam and called it a mountain......

I got the bright idea to use the lid of a Rubbermaid container as a makeshift sled and a jump rope as "reigns". Kyndall had the time of her life sliding down the hills in our front yard!!  I didn't have my camera handy, but you can imagine what a sight we were, slipping and sliding all over the place!  So much fun!!

Once we got too cold to stand it any longer, we came inside and made our usual, snow cream!

Typical Florida girl.......Can't handle the cold!  She was pitiful, saying her toes were burning and that she needed me to "take care of her".  I set her up with a warm blanket and a heater and she milked it for all it was worth.

She eventually thawed out and was begging to go out again!

The downfall to a morning spent in the snow.....Wet clothes and shoes EVERYWHERE!

A few more exciting things happened this afternoon.  Kyndall received a very sweet and thoughtful package from our dear friends the Horans who live in Florida......

Perfect for her new bedroom!  She loved it!

I also received a package and I'm VERY excited about it!  Yes, I've jumped on the essential oil bandwagon and I'm anxious to see if it's all everyone says it is!  (No worries, I'm not giving up on modern medicine---my life depends on it!  But, I just want to give this a go and see what it can do!)  I'll let you know if I become a "believer" along with all the others!

Schools are closed again tomorrow and dance was also canceled, so Kyndall and I will be spending another day at home.  Hopefully tomorrow she will agree to just watch from inside, where it's nice and warm!
