Today was Kyndall's last day of school for the 2013-2014 school year and I can't believe this day has already come! It seems like we just started this year. This wraps up Kyndall's second year at Englewood and we couldn't be happier with her progress. She has truly blossomed both socially and academically since we enrolled her when we first moved here a year and a half ago.
Here are a few comparison pictures from the first day of school back in August.....
And from today, on her last day of school........
My baby doesn't look like a baby anymore!! =( It's amazing how much older she looks when you compare these pictures. I guess I don't notice the subtle changes since I see her everyday, but when I look back the difference is astounding to me.
Kyndall once again had wonderful teachers this year whom she absolutely adored. Mrs. Lila and Mrs. Christy were so good to her and taught her so much. I am thankful for the time and love they invested into Kyndall over the past nine months. We will surely miss them!
Today was also the first of two rehearsals for this weekend's big dance recital!!! Tomorrow we have dress rehearsal but today was just practice on the "big stage" as Kyndall calls it. We arrived a little early and Kyndall and Caroline were the first two dancers there. They took FULL advantage of this by monkeying around on the stage together, as if it were the Kyndall and Caroline show!
If only they weren't so shy......HA!
The practice was pure chaos but somehow, someway I've been assured that it will all come together by Saturday afternoon. And if not, it will still be the most adorable thing I've ever seen.
Tomorrow my Dad and my in-laws arrive together for the big dance weekend and we are excited to have them visiting until Tuesday! We have a busy weekend ahead but I am SO glad that I'm HERE to be a part of it all!! Fingers crossed that I don't get called in for surgery until at LEAST Saturday night!! This "dance Mom" is ready to watch my little ballerina steal the show!
Oh, one more thing! I posted this on Facebook earlier this week but wanted to put it in my blog for memory's sake as well. Wednesday morning Kyndall was entirely too quiet for entirely too long. Upon further investigation I found her "decorating" our bed with colorful pipe cleaners. She was very proud of her creation and paid great attention to detail by curling the ends of each piece ever so neatly. I was actually quite impressed! (And, quite RELIEVED that I didn't walk into something much worse! I can totally handle a few pipe cleaners hanging from my bed as opposed to the other horrible things that were running through my mind as I went searching for her!)
So proud of her creation
Very creative!
She begged me not to take them down, so I didn't. They are still there and each time I walk into my bedroom and see them I can't help but smile and think about how very blessed I am to have such a smart, spunky, creative, happy little girl who appreciates the little things in life.....like a pack of 89 cent pipe cleaners from Hobby Lobby. I think I'll leave them there forever. =)
