A New Christmas Tradition

This afternoon following church, Kyndall and I joined my sweet friend Stephanie and her daughter Kennedy for a fun girls afternoon which will not soon be forgotten.  We grabbed a quick lunch and then headed downtown to see The Nutcracker Ballet!  Kyndall has never been to anything like this so I wasn't sure if she would even sit through it.  She's in her second year of ballet class, so she definitely has an interest in the art of ballet, but I wasn't positive she could handle two straight hours of it.  That's not to say she wasn't over the moon excited!!

They had cupcakes for sale in the lobby and of course my sweet toothed little ballerina just had to have one.  Look at her go.....No doubt she's my child!

I'm happy to say that she LOVED the ballet and this will definitely be a new mother/daughter tradition for the two of us!  She is still talking about it and has been dancing around the living room all evening.  I'm so glad we did this.  I've not felt very cheerful lately and honestly I'm just not in the Christmas spirit this year.  I can't put my finger on exactly what it is, but something is just "off" with me right now.  This was a good little pick-me-up and I enjoyed seeing it through the eyes of my daughter for the very first time.  Thank you, Stephanie and Kennedy for letting us join you!
