Christmas morning arrived and as is typical for my little sleepy head, we had to wake her up!
Every year on Christmas morning the first thing we do is read the Christmas story from the Bible
Santa came! Or did he....? Here's what Kyndall noted as she walked into the living room that morning. (Keep in mind she just turned 4)
"Mommy, why do the presents look the same as they did when I went to bed? There aren't any new ones."
Apparently my little smarty pants had memorized the exact layout of every single present in the days leading up to Christmas so although I never thought she would notice, she definitely knew that nothing had changed! I had placed her gifts (Santa gifts included) under the tree as soon as we arrived at my in-laws' house several days prior to Christmas. She can't read the tags and I had no idea she was paying so much attention to how things looked under the tree! Once we dodged that bullet she said......
"Ok well why did Santa use the same kind of wrapping paper that Mommy and Daddy used??"
I give up! All I have to say is we have one smart little girl and next year I will definitely have to step up my game in the Santa department!
Kyndall (with Nonie's help) made me and Matthew each a special gift....
Gone are the days when our fur babies received Christmas gifts...sorry boys!
Who is having more fun here??
A special friend sent me this shirt while I was in the hospital so this picture is for her =)
After the presents were opened we had breakfast with Matthew's parents before dashing off to my Grandma's house in Two Egg for Christmas Day lunch with the family
The "young people" have now outnumbered the "old people" so we get to sit at the big table for holiday meals!
The "little people" enjoying their Christmas lunch at the same table that their Mamas (me and my cousins) sat at when we were their age.
The cutest nephew in the whole world!
Carrie and Justin
Kelly and Michael
Katie and Brian
Jeffrey and.....Matthew?? (Sorry Sydney! We missed you!)
Us
Boys and their toys. I have no idea what they were so engaged in, but I thought this picture was funny!
Getting ready for a ruthless game of Dirty Santa! Our favorite Christmas tradition!
Our family gave Grandma a locket with the birthstones of all her Grandchildren, their spouses and their kids. That's a LOT of stones!
Dirty Santa....ready, set, go!
Kyndall and Garrison are so sweet together. They're just 6 days apart in age and get along so well.
Scheming........
Stealing.......
Grandma is very generous to all of us!!
All of the Great Grandchildren
Garrison, Kyndall, Wyatt and Bryce
This one makes me want to give her a baby brother or sister SO bad! Sweeeeeet!!
We also made a trip to the nursing home to see my other Grandmother. She usually comes to Two Egg with the rest of the family but this year she just wasn't able to.
Late that night we drove back to Georgia to spend a few more days with Matthew's parents. And THAT is why we call it the Christmas Day Shuffle!! Whew!
Kyndall woke up when we arrived back in Georgia after a LONG day of Christmas hopping! She insisted on playing with some of her new toys before going to bed....
It was a great day! I am always sad to see Christmas Day come and go but we definitely made the most of every minute and squeezed in as much as we possibly could! We are blessed!!
