Though it's hard for me to believe, a week and a half ago my first and only nephew turned ONE YEAR old! My sister planned a super cute farm themed birthday party for him and I drove down to Tallahassee a few days prior to help her with last minute details. Kyndall had been with my parents for two weeks so I was not only excited about the party but also very excited to see my girl again!
Kelly had the cutest decorations for the party! She thought of everything!
Wyatt was not his usual happy self on the day of the party. I think he was a little overwhelmed! It's hard being one.
Wyatt and G-Daddy waiting on the party guests to arrive.
I think she grew a foot since I last saw her! And look at that Florida tan! Love my girl.
Kyndall thinks Wyatt is the bee's knees. She cannot get enough of him and he thinks she's pretty funny! Lately when I ask her if she wants a baby brother or sister she responds with "No, I have Wyatt."
My two favorite kiddos in the world!
Kyndall and Grandma
Kelly thought of everything, including fun activities for the older kids to do
Wyatt's smash cake was so cute!
Singing the birthday song....
We anxiously awaited his reaction to the cake....
He was NOT interested and in fact was quite ticked off at us for making him touch it!
He never did take any interest in playing in his cake so off to the sink he went
Time for presents....
Kyndall was proud to give Wyatt our gift....
Michael's sister lives in England so they gave Wyatt this shirt--Too cute!
Wyatt ended up going down for a nap before he even finished opening up his gifts. He held out as long as he could!
From my Dad.....
From my parents.....
Kyndall filled in during Wyatt's absence....
Kyndall's favorite part of the whole party was when Aunt Kelly let her have the fondant animals off the top of the cake---yuck!!
Happy birthday, Wyatt! Uncle Matthew, Aunt Sissy and cousin Kyndall love you!
On Sunday I had the opportunity to attend my "home" church with my family and I saw lots of my favorite people whom I miss so very much!
Kyndall was happy to see Payton
Sunday was also Wyatt's actual birthday so after church we snapped a few pictures to make up for the ones we didn't get the day before when Mr. Grumpy showed up to the party!
Later that afternoon we had a few friends over to swim and hang out...
Actually, we did a LOT of swimming over the five days that I was there.....
Cheers to sweet summertime treats
Earlier in the week I had the chance to have lunch with my friend Betsy at my favorite restaurant, Barnaby's. It's always good to catch up with my lifelong friends when I'm home.
Since I hadn't seen her in two weeks, I gave in and slept in Kyndall's bed at my parents house every night that we were there. I NEVER do this at home and we have always been very strict about bedtime boundaries. Thankfully it didn't create any bad habits and as soon as we returned home we also returned to our own beds!
I know she won't want to do this forever
We packed up and headed back to Tennessee on Tuesday morning. It was a pretty quick trip for me as compared to most of my Tallahassee visits, but I am a creature of habit and I love a routine. So I was anxious to get her back home after two weeks away and settle back into our everyday life. We've had a BUSY summer!
Snapped this picture of my temp gauge in my car as we were driving home. Ridiculous!
As I said, we've had a VERY busy summer! Now that we're back home I think we will stay put for the rest of the summer.
Here's a brief re-cap of all our travels over the past few months.....
Jackson to Tallahassee to Gulf Shores, Alabama and back
Jackson to High Point, North Carolina to Gatlinburg and back
Jackson to Tallahassee to Two Egg, Florida to Thomasville, Georgia and back (and Kyndall went to Tampa!)
Jackson to Nashville and back (Six times)
Jackson to Tallahassee and back (Three times)
Jackson to Beaumont, Texas and back
I suppose we were making up for lost time since we weren't allowed to travel last summer due to my restrictions with being on the transplant list! I'm glad we've had such a busy summer because we've made lots of great memories but this Mama is TIRED! I am actually looking forward to staying close to home for a while. Our next big trip is DISNEY so I'm saving up my energy between now and November!

Happy 1st Birthday, Wyatt! You are TOO cute!
