Daddy/Daughter Sock Hop

Tonight was a very special night!  Kyndall and Matthew had their first (hopefully of many) Daddy/Daughter dances.  It was a sock hop theme and it was put on by our church's kids ministry and held in the Warehouse at Englewood.

We met Matthew at the church, but I took a few pictures of Kyndall before leaving home....

We drove up to see this....

When Englewood does anything, they do it BIG.  This Daddy/Daughter dance was no exception!  They went all out with some of the most adorable decorations and details I've ever seen.  I snuck in for a few minutes and took some pictures before making a quick exit.

My FAVORITE part was seeing all of Kyndall's sweet little friends dressed up in their best 50's attire.  I wish I could've gotten one huge group picture but there were lots and lots of girls and Daddies there.

Boogie, Macy, Matthew and Kyndall

I wanted to stay SO bad but I followed the rules and left the Daddies and Daughters to do their thing.  While they feasted on cheeseburgers and ice cream sundaes, I spent my evening here....

Doing this.....

Matthew promised to send me pictures and videos and I'm proud to say he followed through.  He said Kyndall LOVED the dancing and hardly stopped moving all night.  They also played games and had a hula hooping contest.  So fun!

A few videos......

They gave all the Daddies one of these and told them to keep it in their Bible and to read it often. I love it!

They danced the night away and had a great time.  I'm so thankful that Matthew takes the time to do these special kinds of things with Kyndall.  She will never doubt her Daddy's love for her.

We ended the night with our usual family devotional/prayer time and I snapped these sweet pictures of the two of them deep in conversation.

I hope this is the first of many, many Daddy/Daughter dances.  I also hope that time will slow down a little bit but I think that's a hopeless cause.  Our baby is growing up way too fast but with each new season of life I get more and more joy out of seeing her grow into a beautiful girl that God created her to be.  I'm so thankful that she's mine.  That THEY are mine!!

  2. What a great event! Where did they get the old car? Those decorations were very impressive! What a sweet night for Matthew and Kyndall. I love the list they gave the dads about things to know about your daughter...and I had to laugh at the Taylor Swift part (Clint LOVES her, lol!)
