Father's Day 2016

This past weekend we celebrated Matthew's 6th Father's Day.  He is so good to us that he deserves to be celebrated everyday but we tried to make him feel extra special on this particular day.

Kyndall couldn't wait until Sunday to give him his gifts so we did that a little early.  With some help from Grammy while she was in town last week, Kyndall worked VERY hard on this special creation for her Daddy.  She used mod podge to cover the box in scrapbook paper and then topped it off with some pretty rocks and stones.  She chose all of the pieces herself from the craft store.

Being our super crafty girl, she even decorated the bag

She wants him to put it on his desk at work to hold all of his trinkets

She decorated and signed the inside

Kyndall and Matthew go skating nearly every Saturday afternoon.  It's their "thing" and they both LOVE it.  I love that they have this special time together and hope they always do this.

A good Daddy is one who will let his little girl style his hair, even if that means sparkly BOWS!
(Side note--Kyndall did her own make up and was very proud of it!)

You're looking at a very patient Daddy!

Who is also a very tired Daddy!

Sunday at church they gave all the Dads beef jerky which made this guy very happy!  Moms were handed a flowers on Mother's Day....Dads got beef.  Seems about right.

We spent the afternoon at the movies watching Finding Dory then ended the night with dinner out.

Kyndall wanted to make one more surprise before the day was officially over so she ran up to her playroom and came back with this creation.  Matthew is very gracious to always tell her how much he appreciates her many crafty creations and she just beams with pride.

I had some things to catch up on around the house so Kyndall and Matthew wrapped up the night with some playtime upstairs, complete with an intense game of checkers.  She's surprisingly good for a 5 year old!

We are so thankful for Matthew and the way he works hard for our family, taking care of every need we have.  He is the best Daddy to Kyndall and she adores him.  I know I've said it many times before, but we were truly given the best when God gave us Matthew.  Kyndall's future husband has some very big shoes to fill because her Daddy is her first love and he has set the bar pretty high.  She sees how well he treats me and she tells us she wants to marry someone just like him.  I don't think there's any higher compliment than that!

  1. What a sweet post! You are both blessed tremendously, but he's pretty lucky too ;)

    P.S.
I love her look in the checker game!
