Welcome Fall!

The past few days up here in Charleston have been HEAVENLY!  The weather is just perfect----a lot cooler, but not so cold that it's unbearable.  It's just perfect.  I love this time of year, not only because of the weather, but because I love the things that come along WITH this time of year----Jackets and sweaters and hats, Halloween and Fall Festivals, pumpkin carving, warm fires and hot chocolate, going to the fair, decorating the house, and of course the Holidays!  There's just something about this time of year that I've always loved.  This year I really got excited about decorating our house for Fall.  I'm not a huge fan of the scary Halloween decorations, so I decided to go with a Fall theme instead.  One of the things I love when it comes to decorating my house is changing out my wreath as the seasons change.  I usually buy one, but this year I decided to attempt to get crafty and make one.  I saw one similar to this on Etsy that I really liked, and I won't even tell you how much they wanted for it!  Ridiculous!  So, I bought a few things and here's what I ended up with.......

It cost me less than $10 to make it, and I actually had a lot of fun doing it!  I'm not crafty at all, so that should tell you how very easy this little project was!  Now, if only we had a prettier front door....  =/

Another thing that I love about Fall is being outside!  This time of year is perfect for spending time with your family outdoors.  So that's exactly what we did this weekend!  On Saturday, Keith and Heidi invited us over to grill out at their house.  Kyndall had a blast on their swing set and was in Heaven when she saw all of the cool toys they have in their playroom.  It was a great night!

This is the only picture I was able to get of all 3 girls together!  That's Kadyn, Kinsley and Kyndall.  The 3 K's!

I almost forgot!  Another thing that I love about the cooler weather is warm cozy jammies!  Saturday night, I broke out Kyndall's new long PJ's for the first time since the summer.  She is super hot natured, so she's been sleeping in only a diaper since about May!  It was exciting to actually get to dress her for bedtime!

Once again, on Sunday afternoon we took advantage of the cool weather and spent several hours outside.

While Matthew did this.....

Kyndall did this.......

And I did this.........

We had such a great afternoon just enjoying the cool air and the blue sky.

Kyndall did some very important work on her laptop, which she picked out that same day at Target with her birthday gift card from Lindsey Davis!  She loves it!

Memorizing moments like these..........

Of course my other two babies were there also, Cameron and Huckabee.  I think they enjoy the cool weather as much as we do!

I was sad to see the weekend end, but I'm looking forward to having my Mom and Matthew's Mom here for several days!  They're driving up here on Wednesday afternoon and staying through Sunday.  I'm having yet another medical procedure done on Thursday, so they're coming to help out with that.  Once that's behind us, we plan to do several fun things, like:  Make a trip to the outlet mall to get Kyndall some new fall clothes, see the movie Courageous, and visit the pumpkin patch.  I'm so excited that I kinda keep forgetting that the REAL reason they're coming is because of my procedure.....but I guess that's a good thing!  Check back this time next week for lots of pictures from their visit!!  =)

  1. Ashleigh-Anne, I really enjoyed this, just as I have all of your blogs. The pictures, and your introduction to Fall, and all the fun and beauty that goes with it, inspires me. I love being outdoors this time of year! Kyndall is very fortunate and blessed to have you and Matthew for parents. Hope your procedure goes well. I know you are comforted by having your Mom and Matthew's Mom there to see you through this. Love you

  2. Nice panties Kadyn, ahhhhhh!!! I am going to use your idea for Fall decorations instead of just Halloween and incorporate halloween stuff when it gets closer. It makes more sense!! We had fun, thanks for coming over!!!

  3. I loved the pictures in this post. I think that I might have to try to make that wreath. Maybe. I may have to hire a babysitter so that I can get to Michaels to get the "ingredients." I also loved K's fall jammies--one of my favorite times, too!

  4. I love the pics of you and Kyndall laying on your backs on the blanket and the one of her on the blanket with the HUGE smile on her face!! I can't wait to get there to see her!!! (and ya'll). I am going right now to put my fall placemats and napkins out. I have my fall wreath on the door and a fake pumpkin out but forgot about my table....off I go now!
