Our Valentine's Day

I love Valentine's Day!  I used to hate it, but now that I have two very special Valentines to share it with, I really like it.  I am so blessed to love and to be loved, and I enjoy celebrating that.  I don't believe in spending a ton of money, but I do like making the day special and memorable.  Here's how we spent our day..........

Rise and shine my little sleepy Valentine!!

Heart shaped waffles for breakfast!

She seemed to really get a kick out of them.....

Taunting the dogs......

After breakfast, she watched cartoons while Mommy got ready......

I had an appointment at the hospital with my liver doctor, so unfortunately, that's where we spent most of our day.  Before heading out, I took a few pictures of Kyndall in her Valentine attire.......

We decided not to fight the crowds for dinner out, so Matthew cooked us a yummy dinner here at home.  After dinner, we let Kyndall open her goodies.

Opening her package from Nonie and Poppie........

And her package from Grammy and G-Daddy......

And finally, her gifts from Mommy and Daddy.......

This tacky light up rose from the Dollar Tree was her favorite----so typical!

Daddy got her a special gift, just from him.  He even wrapped it himself.  Sweet!

Even our four-legged sweeties got a gift......

After gifts, we Skyped with Grammy, G-Daddy and Aunt Kelly and then Kyndall got her bath and got ready for bed.  Here she is showing off her new PJ's from Nonie and Poppie.......

She loves her pink frog from Grammy and G-Daddy!

Check out Kyndall's loot!!!

Finally, after we put Kyndall down for the night, Matthew and I exchanged our gifts with each other.  He always breaks the "rules" and does way more for me than he's supposed to.  He got me a bottle of my favorite perfume, plus a book I've been wanting.  It's one of those "For Dummies" books and it's written specifically for my new camera---maybe I can finally learn how to use this thing!  He had to order it and it hasn't been delivered yet, but it should be here in the next few days!

I, on the other hand, gave Matthew a totally lame gift.  It's hard giving Valentines gifts to a guy---you can't do flowers and perfume and candles.  So I did the next best thing I could think of---a bag FULL of all his favorite candy.  So, so lame compared to what he got me!  Oh well.

I did manage to surprise him with fresh baked cookies and his FAVORITE drink!  I was sort of proud of this idea!

Even though we're both adults now, our parents still spoil us with cards and gifts and we love it! =)  Nonie and Poppie threw in a whole box of these Little Debbie holiday cakes.  If you've been following my blog, you'll understand why this is funny!!  We're looking forward to treating ourselves to dinner out, thanks to Grammy and G-Daddy!

Here's what my little Valentine looked like this time last year.......

I LOVE my life!!!!

  1. Sweet :) I really liked the picture of K sitting in your lap and you both looking down reading. She looks like such a little lady and I bet this will be a cherished picture when she's all grown up!
