Post--Easter Tallahassee Happenings

The Monday after Easter, Matthew left around noon to return back to Charleston, while Kyndall and I stayed behind and spent the remainder of the week in Tallahassee.  I'm so grateful that Matthew is always so willing to let me enjoy my frequent, extended trips to my home town.  If I can't live there full time, then visiting long and often is the next best thing I guess!

We stayed BUSY the entire week with play dates and lunch get-togethers and birthday parties and more!  As always, I tried to catch as much as I could of it on camera to share with you, and to look back on in years to come.  Take a look at how we spent our week..............

Kyndall discovered how much FUN it is to ride on G-Daddy's lawnmower, and despite the fact that gas is nearly $4.00 a gallon, he gladly rode her around the yard over and over again!

Just as she loved riding on the mower with G-Daddy, she loved swinging with Grammy......

Although we've been to my parents' house 1,000 times, Kyndall has never noticed the stairs.......until this past week.  Boy, did she keep us on our toes!  There was no stopping her!  She could go from bottom to top in less than a few seconds, and oh was she proud of herself!

She also discovered playing in Grammy's newly re-decorated dining room.  Shhhhhh.....don't tell Grammy.......

I can't go to Tallahassee without making a stop by one of my favorite places to visit some of my favorite people!  Kyndall and I always try to make a lunch-time visit to Dr. Leadbeater's office, where I used to work before I got married and moved away. I love to catch up with my girls and they seem to love seeing Kyndall.

Look how much she's grown!!!

Oh geez, she spotted the stairs.  Tara and Leslie were kind enough to give me a break and indulged her in some stair climbing.

After our visit to my old office, we made a stop by my friend Laura's house so that Kyndall and her daughter Lily Kate could have a play date.  It's been over a year since these two saw each other, and yet they played so nicely together!!  Here's what they looked like last time they got together for a play date........

And now, April 2012

Lily Kate : "Hmmm, how shall we torture Pugsley?"

Kyndall : "I know!  How about like this?!"

To me, Lily Kate's face says "In your dreams, home girl!"

That same night, Aunt Kelly and Michael came over for dinner and we enjoyed some time outside before we ate

It must be said that Kyndall absolutely LOVES my Dad, her G-Daddy.  She can be perfectly content until she sees him, and then all she wants is for him to pick her up and play with her.  Here she is greeting him when he got home from work.  Oh, and I'm sure the yummy orange soda made her love him even more!

More stair climbing........

Skyping with Daddy........

Aside from her new 4-wheeler, this Winnie the Pooh truck is Kyndall's favorite toy to play with at my parents' house.  It was actually mine when I was a baby and my Mom kept it all these years.  I have no idea why she's so fascinated with it, but I think it's neat that it used to be mine and now it's hers.

She loves taking the characters out and putting them back in.  She's really good at matching up the shapes!

Every Thursday a group of my Mommy friends and their kiddos get together at my church for Bible story time.  Stephanie does a great job with the story and the kids seem to love it!  This past week's story was about Moses.  She told of Moses's life from the time he was the baby in the basket all the way through his leading of the Israelites through the Red Sea.  Thanks for investing precious time into the lives of our little ones, Stephanie!!

She loved watching the other kids run around before story time started

See how nice the kids sit and listen to Mrs. Stephanie?  Oh wait, where's Kyndall.......

Can you spot my little monkey?

After story time, Stephanie let the kids listen to music and dance.  Kyndall loved the attention she got from Haleigh!

After story time, everyone headed across the street to the park for a picnic.......

Kyndall's buddy Mercy

And Ali.......

And Evan......

And baby Bailey

I love how Kyndall has her feet crossed and her little hands folded in these next pictures

It was a GORGEOUS afternoon and we had so much fun! It's bitter-sweet because as much as I love these kind of get-togethers, it just makes me miss Tallahassee that much more. =(

Thanks to Erin for snapping a few pictures of me and my sweet girl!  Every now and then it's nice to be in front of the camera instead of behind it!

Bailey was worn out!

By far, the highlight of our week was Friday night when my Mom treated Kyndall, Aunt Kelly and myself to a girls night out to "Disney Princess Live" at the Civic Center.  We'd been looking forward to it for several weeks and we were all anxious to see how Kyndall would react.  Would she love it?  Hate it?  Be completely bored with it?  We were hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst!

Although my Mom had already spent over $100 on tickets and 8 bucks just to park the car for two hours, she couldn't resist buying Kyndall this little gem as soon as we walked in.  How much for this souvenir, you ask??  Oh just TWENTY BUCKS!!!!

Waiting for the show to start, still unsure of how the night would end......

Still waiting.....thank goodness Grammy bought this thing---It kept her thoroughly entertained while we waited!

Finally, the moment we had been waiting for..........Showtime!!

She L-O-V-E-D it!!!!!!!

What a face!

Time for a little snack.........

I'm not sure who had more fun, Kyndall or the 3 of us watching Kyndall!  Her reaction was priceless and we are so thankful to Grammy for treating us to a night we will always remember!

On Saturday we soaked up as much fun family time as we could, since it was our last full day before heading back to SC on Sunday morning.  Kyndall did some more cruising.......

And of course some more stair climbing..........

We ended our week in Tallahassee by attending Payton's 3rd birthday bash Saturday afternoon at Zoinks (I think it's called something else now but I still call it Zoinks!) Again, I wasn't sure how Kyndall would like it, but she had a blast!

Payton, the birthday girl!

She loved this ride.......

But HATED this one!!  Hahaha!!!

What a fantastic week!!  So many fun and exciting things, all packed into a few short days!  Kyndall slept just short of 14 hours on Sunday night, when we returned home!!  Neither one of us are used to keeping up such a busy social schedule, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  That's why we look forward to our trips home so much---always plenty of places to go and people to see!  We'll be back in less than two weeks for my cousin Carrie's graduation!  Already counting down the days!  =)

  3. ahhh what a pick me up on a Thursday morning at work! I will definitely be looking at these pictures again before the day is over. I love the pics of Kyndall and LK! Your captions are hillarious! I especially love the one of Kyndall pointing to LK's bottle and the one where Kyndall looks like she wants to run Pugsley over with the princess car. Haha. And that comparison photo was great...so much has changed since last February! I love all fo Kyndall's fashion, especially that orange and pink icecream dress, adorable! I truly enjoyed all of Kyndall's facial expressions, I know she keeps you guys laughing! Xoxo, Laura
