Fun Times with Friends!

After Christmas, there were still people on our "must see while we're home" list that we wanted to spend time with.  So, we kicked it off by meeting our good friend Travis for dinner the day after Christmas.  Travis and Matthew met in college and have been friends ever since.  He was a groomsman in our wedding and is such a good friend to us.  (He's our Wrigley's man--the one who gives us all the free gum and candy!) =)  He now lives in California so we only get to see him once a year, always at Christmas time when we're all home.  We started the tradition of meeting in Valdosta for dinner a few years ago and we've done it each year since!  We look forward to it every year!  He's getting ready to move to Chicago, so he'll actually be a lot closer to us, which we're excited about!

Our 2010 Visit with Travis......Meeting Kyndall for the first time

And 2011.......

Another family that we couldn't leave town without seeing was the Love family.  Blake and Matthew have been BFFs (Do guys have "BFFs"??) since they were little boys and grew up together in Georgia.  Blake and Felicia's twins are our God Children.  They are also expecting another little bundle of joy this coming May, and they just found out it's a GIRL!  We went over to Blake and Felicia's house and let the kids exchange gifts and then had lunch together.  Every time we hang out with them it just makes me wish we lived closer to "home" even more than I already do!!

We gave the twins matching "Big Bro" and "Big Sis" shirts with their names on them.  I'm sure they were less than thrilled with this gift, but I knew it would mean a lot to their Mama!  =)

Football......It's what they do!!

Ball Hog!

On Thursday night (I think??) we spent time with MY BFF (yes, girls definitely have "BFFs" and she is one of them!) Amber and her family.  Amber lives in Conyers GA, but she and her husband and boys were home for the holidays as well.  Her "baby" Brody was turning the big ONE and they invited us to her parents' house for his party.  It was super cute and it was so good to see Amber and her boys!!  Miss her so much!!!

Aunt Kelly, Uncle Michael and Grammy were there too!

Birthday Boy loved his cake..................

.................Until they made him touch it!!!

Amber and her first baby, Cooper

After the party we met up with my Dad and Matthew who had been hunting all day.  We went to Dorothy B. Oven park to see the lights, something we try to do every year!  Even though Christmas was over, it was still fun to walk around and see all of the decorations.  Kyndall had a blast!  "Yites!"  "Yites!" "Yites!" she proudly exclaimed as we browsed through the park.

"Bang!" "Bang!" she said to the deer =(  I'll give you one guess who taught her THAT!

Dancing with Daddy to the music that was playing in the courtyard.......

Uncle Michael = Big Kid at heart!

We were swinging with "no hands"----Kyndall's favorite thing to do

I'm so glad we were able to squeeze in so much friend time while we were in town!  Especially considering that our trips will likely be less frequent now that we're 10 hours away, vs. 6.  There were a few that we didn't catch this time around, but I'm giving each of you an open invitation to come see us in Jackson anytime you want!!!  =)

  1. Ashleigh Anne, I love the picture of Kyndall sitting on the brick wall with her hands and feet crossed. I need a copy of that one.

    Lots of love,
