2 Years

Today, March 11th 2013, marks my 2nd "Blogiversary"!  I can't believe it's been two whole years since I started this little blogging journey and moreover I can't believe how many people have come to love and enjoy it.  I had no idea when I started that so many would be interested and intrigued by our simple, ordinary, everyday lives.  It began as a way to share pictures, stories and memories with our extended family but it has turned into so much more than that.

Unless you're a blogger, you really can't understand what it takes to keep one going.  Trust me when I tell you (or just look at the time stamp on many of my posts) that I have sacrificed hundreds of hours of sleep to keep this blog up to date and accurate.  I've put off chores, errands and even precious time with my family in order to pour much of my energy into keeping this thing going.  I'm one of those people who believes if you're going to do something, do it RIGHT and with all of your heart.  Otherwise, what's the point?  I've taken on that attitude with this blog and I hope it shows.  I want it to be a priceless treasure that will be valued for years and years to come by my children and my family members.  Long after I'm gone, these stories and pictures and memories will live on through the countless hours that I've dedicated to documenting them here.

I've been planning to have the blog printed and bound into books, but have yet to get around to that.  Soon, I hope!  If something should happen to me, someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do that for me!  Don't let all of my time and energy go to waste!  =)

Finally, here's a little info that I gathered about my blog that I thought you might find interesting........

  • 28 "Public Followers" on Blogger ( plus hundreds of others who follow me through Facebook, etc)
  • 229 Total Posts
  • 39,677 total Page Views
  • Readers from all over the world including the USA, Russia, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Israel, India, Malaysia and Brazil (This kind of freaked me out at first but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I actually DO know people in most of those places!)
  •  My most popular post, coming in 1st place with 434 total views was THIS one
  • In 2nd place, with 329 total views was THIS
  • And  in 3rd place, with 272 total views was THIS POST
Two years, thousands of pictures, hundreds of memories, and countless hours of hard work and dedication later, I am one proud and accomplished blogger!  I hope that as our lives get busier and more complicated, I won't lose the motivation it takes to keep it going.  I just keep telling myself that in years to come, I'll be so glad I did this!  =)  And of course, knowing that all of you enjoy it so much also keeps me excited and motivated.  It's humbling to know that so many of you enjoy keeping up with our lives and crave a small glimpse of the world that I live in.  Thank you for your encouragement over the past two years!  I love reading your comments and getting your feedback---keep 'em coming!

Happy 2nd "Blogiversary" to me!..........Here's hoping for many more to come!
