My parents arrived LATE Friday night for their very first visit to our new home in Jackson. We were excited to see them and they were VERY excited to be out of the car. Ten hours is a long time to sit still, no matter your age!
As usual, they came bearing lots and lots of gifts! Kyndall is one loved little girl!
She was SO excited about these brightly colored "pops" from Grammy and G-Daddy!
My sweet friend Laura also sent goodies for Kyndall, as well as for me and Matthew........
Opening her treats from Laura
Laura knows Kyndall well enough to know that Minnie Mouse is always a hit!

Laura, along with my friend Betsy, made these ADORABLE blankets for our family!! Kyndall's is Dora themed and mine and Matthew's is appropriately themed John Deere---Afterall, we DO live in Tennesseee now!
Not only that, Laura had them MONOGRAMMED!!! She knows the way to my heart! (Side note---I did NOT expect to be in pictures this night so please excuse my appearance. This was taken at approximately midnight Friday night, which is about the time my parents arrived!)
I have the best friends in the whole world----Always thinking of me and doing sweet little things "just because"! Thanks girls!!!
She was so excited to have her Grammy and G-Daddy here----I think it was close to 1:00 a.m. before we all finally went to bed!
On Saturday, my Dad and Matthew played golf so the girls found a local park and had a picnic. It was an unusual and WONDERFUL 75ish outside so we took full advantage of the great weather!
The park had several nature trails that we explored. We eventually ended up at a lake where we saw lots of turtles and fish.
After our trip to the park, we did some shopping, treated ourselves to Icees and eventually ended up back at home with Matthew and my Dad. We decided to have a little egg hunt in our backyard and let Kyndall have a practice run before the big hunt at Grandma's house on Easter Sunday. Remember, last year she wasn't even walking yet! She was 18 months old, but still not walking. Judging by how she did Saturday night, I think she'll dominate this year =)
Cheering squad
This is her game face
After she gathered all of her eggs, she promptly opened each one and took out the candy. Smart girl!
Cam was getting on my nerves so I came up with a solution =)
We ended the night with taco salad for dinner and some play time. It was a good day!
This morning we took my parents to church and they were able to see where Kyndall goes to pre-school and they even met the infamous CRUZ that Kyndall is always talking about!
Kyndall wore her green for St. Patrick's Day
We had lunch and then came home and everyone (except me) took a nap. Before she would go to sleep, Kyndall insisted on having another egg hunt. We improvised and did a quick hunt throughout the house. It was enough to satisfy her and she went to sleep a happy girl!
It's been a lot of fun having my parents here and showing them around our new town and just spending time with them. Kyndall has especially enjoyed having their attention and she's been so very sweet since they arrived! Thankfully we still have a few days before they have to leave, but the good news is Kyndall and I are going with them! Tomorrow we'll probably hang out around the house (and have 1,328 more egg hunts) while Matthew is at work and maybe go out to dinner tomorrow night. Tuesday Grammy and G-Daddy will be on Kyndall duty all day, while Matthew and I travel to Nashville for my first appointment at Vanderbilt.
Oh, I just found these pictures on my camera from last weekend when we went out to dinner with our friends Pam and Jeremy. I thought Kyndall looked super cute! =)
why does your father own an orange sweatshirt??? Seriously, loved this welcome to Spring in my part of the world. 75 one day 55 the next :-)
ReplyDeleteAww, glad you liked the blankets and the little gifts for Kyndall! She is so cute hunting for all those eggs! Gosh, it still looks like the dead of winter in that park you went to...hope things start turning green up your way and you get some warm Spring weather. :) Love all of Kyndall's outfits, you always dress her so well!! Xoxo, Laura
