Welcome Home!

We're home!  Kyndall and I flew into Nashville last night and we were greeted at the airport by one very excited Daddy/Husband!  Likewise, we were very happy to see him after being gone for three and a half weeks!

We had a great flight and Kyndall was on her absolute BEST behavior this time.  She flipped through the Sky Mall magazine, played games on my phone, ate her peanuts and before we knew it, the plane was landing.  Even though we flew, it was still a long day and she ended up passing out on the 2 hour drive home from Nashville to Jackson.

Normally as soon as the car stops, those big blue eyes pop wide open and she's awake before we can even unload the car.  Not this time!  Not only did she sleep while we emptied the entire car, but also all the way into the house and onto her changing table.  She even stayed asleep while I put on her PJs!  She's never done this, so I knew she was tired!

Check out that drool streak on her face.....That's some good sleep right there!

My tired little traveler

Once I got her settled into bed, I was pleasantly surprised to find two large packages that had arrived during my absence.  Both of them had my name on them and if you know me at all, you know how much I LOVE getting "real" mail!

The first was from a sweet friend of mine named Nicole who lives in FL.  She's a Thirty One consultant and she surprised me with several new pieces to add to my collection!  I love them all and I'm so thankful for her generosity!

Pink monogrammed cosmetic bag and a Georgia Bulldogs thermal tote.  She threw that one in for Matthew, I'm sure! =)

Thermal tote with my monogram

She even remembered Kyndall!

Thank you, Nicole!!!  We love them all!!!

Next was this pretty package, which was so nicely decorated with pink sparkly stickers..........

It wasn't long before I realized who was behind this thoughtful gift.  It was a care package of sorts, from my beloved Summerville Mothers & More group.  I was blessed to be a part of this wonderful group of women/mommies during the time we lived in South Carolina and they have once again proven what true, life-long friends they really are.  Though I'm no longer able to be a part of the group, they are continuing to bless me with their thoughtfulness and generosity.  If only everyone could have friends like these, the world would be a much better place!  I love each of them and miss them dearly but I'm so thankful that the Lord placed them in my life even for such a short time.  They have proven that true and lasting friendships are not barred by distance, but rather grow even deeper in times of need.

I enjoyed digging through the box and looking at each and every item inside.

My sweet friend Crissy is a talented seamstress and she surprised me with the most adorable Bible cover I've ever seen!!!  I just love it!! (Side note---she even had Matthew measure my Bible to be sure she made it the right size!  Sneaky, sneaky!)

I always love it when people remember my sweet girl and these ladies definitely know her well!  They sent all kinds of goodies that they knew she would love. ( I may or may not be chowing down on those gummi bears at this very moment!)

More goodies for me, including many of my favorites..........

Soaps, lotion, nail polish, etc........

A few things to keep me busy and occupied during my recovery.  I LOVE that someone even threw in note cards and an entire book of postage stamps!  Y'all know how obsessive I am with sending "thank you" notes!  I'm sure I'll have quite a few to send over the next few weeks.  What a great idea!

Several very generous gift cards to help with the gas back and forth between Jackson and Nashville.....

Lastly, some of the most thoughtful and encouraging hand written notes from my sweet friends........

Kyndall went right to work on her new coloring book!

I can't even put into words how blessed I have been by random acts of kindness such as the ones I just mentioned above.  I have been so humbled by the outpouring of love, support and generosity of friends, family and strangers alike over the past few weeks.  As I've said before, I only share these things to show how the Lord has turned this trial in my life into a true blessing for our entire family.  I don't deserve any of it, nor is it expected, but I am thankful nonetheless.  We're just over a week away from my surgery and though I'm feeling more anxious, nervous and scared than I can even tell you, I am reminded constantly that I am covered in prayer and that I'm not going into this alone.

Although I was sad to leave Tallahassee after spending three and a half weeks there, I'm excited that we'll see our families again in just over a week when they come up for my surgery.  I'll be spending the next 12 days attempting to catch up on everything that needs to be done prior to surgery day on July 2nd.  My list is endless, but I hope to get it all done.  One of my top priorities is getting this blog caught up!  I somehow managed to take 1,050 pictures during our time in Tallahassee and I'm anxious to share  them with you!  It may take me several days, but I WILL get caught up.....I MUST get caught up!  Can't stand being behind!

Thank you again to Nicole as well as my M&M group for making my homecoming so wonderful!
