Fall 2015 Family Pictures

Normally I would keep these photos under tight lock and key until my Christmas cards went out and were all received, however that just might not happen this year.  As much as it breaks my heart I'm just not sure I have the time or energy it takes to get the cards together in the next few weeks.  With the preparation and time spent on our Disney trip, something just had to give this year.  I absolutely LIVE for sending and receiving Christmas cards, so this is a hard one for me to let go of.  I've sent cards every single year since 2008, which was the first year we were married.  I get so much joy out of sending and especially receiving Christmas cards---even more so the ones with updated photos of happy families on them.  My husband would tell you that I practically go skipping to the mailbox during the month of December, threatening anyone who might try to check the mail before I get to it each day.  It's gotten so out of hand that last year I sent nearly 300 cards and received almost as many in return!  I love it, but as you can imagine it's exhausting and expensive.  So.....all that to say that sharing these photos seems almost sac religious to me because normally they are kept a surprise until the debut of our yearly card.  I'm still holding out hope that I will muster up the energy and somehow find the extra time it takes to get them out, but I also want to slow down and just enjoy the Christmas season for a change, so we shall see.

You probably wouldn't know it by looking at our photos, but we had all been hit with the stomach virus the week prior, and were still in recovery mode.  Matthew literally drug himself out of bed just to be there.  My family knows how much our yearly pictures mean to me and I love them for sucking it up and putting on their happy faces.

Thanks to Megan Shaw for capturing our family's photos for the third year in a row!

Like myself, Megan loves comparison photos so she tried to recreate a few of ours from last year.....

Kyndall wanted Megan to take these next two of her picking a leaf off one of the trees.  Megan was sweet to cooperate and even included the pictures in our proofs :)

Maybe you could make them New Year's cards and address them in the car on the drive down?? This is one thing you can't let go of!! (File this under things only a really good friend can say to you.)
