A Week of Firsts........

Once the birthday party dust settled, Matthew was on his way back to Charleston and Kyndall and I were looking forward to a week long stay in Tallahassee.  I had a wedding to attend the following Saturday (more on that later) and I just couldn't see going all the way back to SC for four days and then coming allllll the way back to FL for the wedding.  So, I stayed!  =)

We said goodbye to Matthew on Sunday morning and then Kyndall and I went to church with my family.  After church and lunch, I took Kyndall up to Thomasville to spend some time with Matthew's parents.  This is pretty typical of our trips home, except this time I wasn't staying with her in Thomasville, but rather leaving her for two full nights!  Eeeeekk!  It would be the first time I'd ever been away from her overnight, so naturally I was a little anxious.  Not because I didn't trust Nonie and Poppie to take care of her, but because I didn't know what I would do with myself for the next two days!  After two years of putting her needs above anything else, I knew I couldn't just turn off my "Mommy mode" and enjoy the time to myself.  I was afraid I'd feel lost without her.  Plus, the fact that she was spending the night away was just one more reminder that my baby is growing up!  =(  Just as I thought, all went well and Kyndall had a blast!  Thank goodness for cell phone pictures and thank you to Nonie for being so good about sending them to me throughout the two days!  Skype is also a wonderful thing!

The main reason for Kyndall spending the night away was so I could attend my very first photography class on Monday with a very well known photographer in Tallahassee.  I've always wanted to take one, but I've just never found the time to do it.  It was great and I learned a lot!  Now, I've just gotta use what I learned and practice, practice, practice!!  Hopefully over the next few months my pictures will get better and better and eventually shooting manually will be like second nature to me.  Right now I'm having a hard time parting ways with my Auto setting!

On Tuesday morning Nonie brought Kyndall back to Tallahassee and the three of us had lunch with my Mom and my sister.  I was SO happy to see her and hear all about her adventures over the past two days.  Apparently, she enjoyed ice cream from Dairy Queen, a play date at Chick-Fil-A, a trip to the park, wagon rides, a visit to Nonie's office, and a new pet goldfish.  I think she was too busy to even miss me!

Tuesday night Kyndall and I made our first trip to the bridal shop to look for bridesmaids dresses for Aunt Kelly's wedding.  Kyndall and I are both in the wedding so it was fun to take her along as well!  She seemed fascinated with all of the dresses, and especially the shoes!!

Wednesday Kyndall and I had a lazy day where we slept in and just hung out at my parents' house all day.  It felt really nice outside so we enjoyed some swingin' and some 4 wheelin' to pass the time......

That night Grammy and G-Daddy watched Kyndall so I could go to dinner with my girlfriends.  I love that we always make it a priority to do this because I look forward to it each time I'm in town!  As usual, we stayed until the restaurant closed and THEN still stood in the parking lot and talked for another hour and a half!!

Thursday was Kyndall's REAL birthday, so we tried to make the day extra special for her!  More on that coming up in the next post!

Oh, I forgot to mention that the same day as Kyndall's party, we attended Kate's 3rd birthday party at Build A Bear in the mall.  Since her party started at 10:00 and Kyndall's wasn't until later that night, we were easily able to make it to both.  I didn't have my real camera with me, but here are a few cell phone pictures I snapped of Kyndall waiting patiently to stuff her bear.......

I borrowed a picture from Rebecca's blog, since I didn't manage to get any of the birthday girl

The first half of our week was jam-packed, as usual.......and the second half was just as much fun!  Check back tomorrow for that post!
