Tallahassee Adventures and Lots of "Firsts"!

On Friday, August 5th, we left Thomasville after being there for a week and traveled to Tallahassee, where Kyndall and I would stay for the following week.  Matthew came for the weekend only, and then had to go back to Thomasville so that he could continue his work in Valdosta.

On Saturday the 6th, we all attended the Baptism of my BFF Betsy's sweet baby boy Elijah.  I wasn't able to make it for Koby's baptism a few years ago, so I was so happy when I found out we would be in town for E's special day.  It was Kyndall's first time attending a Catholic Baptism...

After the Baptism, we were invited back to Betsy's parents' house for a reception....

Future couple??  Maybe!  =)

I'll have to explain to Kyndall in the future that eye poking is NOT the way to attract a boyfriend!

Later that day, we attended a wedding shower at Morningside for a good friend of our family, Kathleen.  Somehow I didn't manage to get a single picture of the bride, but I got a few cute shots of Kyndall playing with Mrs. Stephanie!

On Sunday, Kyndall attended her very first baby shower.  We enjoyed a wonderful brunch at Golden Eagle Country Club in honor of our good friend Jenna Hall.  We can't wait to meet sweet Miss Madyson in a few months!

Monday, Kyndall and I made our very first trip to Hobby Lobby.  OH.  MY.  GOODNESS.  I was in Heaven!!  I could have spent countless hours in that store, and even more countless dollars!!  Thankfully, I had an impatient 10 month old with me, which kept me from wasting my entire day walking around in awe of everything I wanted to buy!  Kyndall really seemed to enjoy it too, see.....

Monday night, a group of girls from Morningside gathered at Olive Garden for dinner.  Mostly, we talked about the upcoming wedding of Lindsay and Andrew, which would be the following Saturday. (More to come on that in the next blog post!)  I have no idea why Kyndall's hair looks so messy in these pictures....and where is her bow??

Tuesday, I met my Mom and some other friends for lunch at Beef 'O Brady's, where we tried to teach Kyndall to drink out of a straw.  She didn't quite master it, but I'm still counting it as her "first" straw experience.

Wednesday morning, Betsy came over and brought Koby and Elijah to swim.  We ended up spending the whole day hanging out and catching up, which I really enjoyed!

On Thursday, Kyndall and I BOTH had a "first"!  It was our first time trying Tallahassee's new shaved ice place called Mardi Gras Snowballs.  It was soooo good!  I got a stuffed pina colada flavored snowball, which was d-lish!!!  We met my cousin Jennifer there around lunchtime and enjoyed her company while we ate our frozen treats.

Ready to meet up with cousin Jennifer

Tasting her very first bite of a "creamsicle" flavored snowball!

On Friday, we made a trip to my Dad's office to have lunch with him.  We picked up a pizza on the way and enjoyed spending some time with GDaddy and tearing apart exploring his office!

On Saturday night we attended the beautiful, sweet wedding of Lindsay and Andrew.  I took a lot of pictures (shock) so I'll share them in my next post.

Whew!!  Now do you see why I didn't have time to stop and blog??  And believe it or not, I didn't even mention everything that we did!  I always enjoy our time in Tallahassee, but I find myself exhausted by the time we leave!  I guess it's a good thing I'm on vacation for the next week!  The only thing on my agenda is relaxation, which includes lots of beach time, pool time, sleeping in, shopping, and just being a beach bum!
