Each year around this time, the neighborhood that we live in puts on a "Family Fun Day", complete with bounce houses, face painting, pony rides, music, food and vendors. Even better, it's completely free! We've never been, but decided to check it out today. I thought it would be fun to ride our bikes rather than drive, especially since we haven't used them a single time this entire summer---It's just been too stinkin' hot!!
It's probably about a mile from our house to the place where the activities were, and for that entire mile she did nothing but giggle and wave to everyone. I think we'll be using the bikes a lot more once it cools off!
Checking out the fire truck...........
Look who was waiting for us as we walked into the park!!! I saw them first and told Matthew not to point them out, but to see if Kyndall would notice.
Ummmm, yeah......SHE NOTICED!!!!
I really thought she might be a little scared of the "real life" Minnie and Mickey but she ran straight up to Minnie (squealing the whole time) and held her hands up for Minnie to hold her
Giddy doesn't even begin to describe it!! I've never seen her more excited!
Taking in every single detail of her "real life" idol!
I think she would've hung out on Minnie's hip all day if we hadn't distracted her with bribes of bounce houses and pony rides!
Checking out the bounce houses, which she wasn't too sure about. Someone in charge wasn't using their noodle and failed to designate one of the bouncers for "little people" only. This nervous Mommy didn't even have to talk her out of getting in with those big, rowdy kids! She was happy just watching from a distance!
Me and my girl representing our NOLES today!
"No time for pictures, Mom---I've got things to see!"
.......And then she was off again.........
We took a break for some juice
But that ended quickly when she spotted her BFF again......
So back to Minnie we went.
If she could talk, I think she'd be saying "Are you guys seeing this??"
Minnie was gracious and picked her up again and allowed Kyndall to check out all of her accessories, including her bow........
"This is the best day ever, Mom!!"
Although Minnie is her #1 girl, she also gave Mickey some love
We lured her away by offering her a snow cone. It worked! Whew! Crisis averted!!
Kyndall sported her "Rainbow Toes for Makiah" today. More on that later.....
It got really HOT out there really FAST so we headed home after about an hour
Blurry picture = Me trying to take pictures with a huge DSLR camera around my neck while riding a bike on a busy street. Yeah, that's safe, right??
Even though Kyndall didn't do the bounce houses, the line for the pony rides was ridiculously long, and she wouldn't sit still for the face painting, it was still SO worth it just to see her face light up when she saw Minnie Mouse! Matthew and I both agree that it's probably time we get serious about planning a trip to Disney! After seeing her excitement today, I can only imagine how thrilled she'd be at "the happiest place on Earth"!!
love love love this post!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say let's get to planning!! Disney here we come!!! This is an adorable blog!!
