This past weekend, my parents came up to spend some time with us and also to help out with Kyndall while I had another medical procedure. They arrived Wednesday night and Kyndall could not be more happy to see them!! I'd been telling her all day that they were coming and she had literally been waiting by the front door ALL DAY LONG! She definitely understood what was going on but clearly has no concept of time. I kept telling her "later" but she didn't quite get it. Needless to say, when they walked in she was beside herself with excitement!
My parents stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner on their way up and picked up this little "thing" for her in the gift shop. Grammy called Kyndall on the way and told her they had a "prize" for her. When Kyndall saw this "thing" she fell in love with it and immediately started calling it "prizey" (pronounced by Kyndall as "pwizey") Anyway, the name stuck and everywhere we went the entire weekend, there Prizey went too! She even insisted on sleeping with it which proved to be quite comical because the little "thing" makes this creepy giggling noise when you push its belly. So all through the night we would hear freaky giggling in the baby monitor. I guess she was rolling over on Prizey...?? Anyway, here he/she is! Don't be surprised if you see "it" in 99% of my pictures from here on out! They are BFFs for sure!
I had my procedure on Thursday and everything went fine. Sadly, I'm an old pro by now and it really doesn't phase me! In fact, that night when I returned home we loaded up and headed to a local church to drive through the living nativity. Kyndall loved it!
Friday was a busy day! I woke up to a phone call from Matthew saying that he had accepted the job in Tennessee and that we would only be in Summerville a few more weeks. Whoa!! More on that in my next post.
Matthew was at work, but my parents, Kyndall and myself enjoyed a nice day together. We went to lunch and then downtown to the Childrens' Museum for what will be our last visit. =( My parents had never been and they really seemed to enjoy watching Kyndall explore everything. We'll really miss this place when we move! Side note---Would any of my Summerville friends like to have our pass to the museum? It's good until July and will otherwise go to waste! Let me know and it's yours!
Kyndall, Prizey and Grammy, ready to head out for the day
Learning about velocity with G-Daddy
Painting with water
Driving the pirate ship
My favorite room---The grocery store!
I played cashier
The castle room---another favorite!
After the museum, we grabbed fresh fruit smoothies on our way to the car
Later that night when Matthew got home my parents took us out for a celebratory dinner for Matthew's new job / early birthday dinner for me. Next, we headed over to James Island for the annual Festival of Lights. This year was the best yet because Kyndall just went wild over all of the "yites" (lights). She was so dramatic and so excited! I love seeing simple things like this through the eyes of a child! Everything is so much more fun!
Before we left the house I was lucky enough to snap a few pictures of her in the Christmas outfit that Grammy bought. For some reason she was unusually cooperative so I took full advantage!
Marshmallow roasting
Can you believe this is sand??
Waiting in line to ride the carousel
She wanted to touch the "yites"
Waiting in line for the train with Grammy! So excited!!
So, so excited!!!
My favorite of the light displays is this replica of the bridge in downtown Charleston
It was a fun couple of days, followed by a great surprise getaway for me and Matthew! More on that in the next post!
what a fun time that was.....loved how she said 'yee ha...whoa' when she saw the pretty lights!!! So glad we were able to share this with her and look forward to some pretty 'yites' in Tennessee!!
