Friends, Football, Family and CAKE!

Saturday morning we met up with our friends Blake and Felicia and their twins (our God Children) Abbie and Josiah for breakfast at Chick-Fil-A.  We love spending time with them so we always try to see them when we're in Thomasville.  Felicia is in her second trimester with their third baby on the way (just one this time!!) but looking at her you can't even tell she's pregnant!  Ugh! =)

Cutie Pie Abbie!

As is typical for Saturdays at Chick-Fil-A, it started to get really crowded and our play date was soon invaded by a bunch of rowdy kiddos, so Blake and Felicia invited us back to their house to visit a little longer.  We hung out in the twins' play room and of course, Kyndall headed straight for the Mickey / Minnie stuff!

Matthew had fun figuring out what boy toys are all about

Right after lunch, my parents and Kelly and Michael came over to Matthew's parents' house to watch the FSU vs UF football game

The neighbor, Mrs. Jodi, also came over to visit for a little while and brought Kyndall a gift

Hamming it up for the crowd---She had quite the audience!

Enjoying burgers for dinner

While the guys watched the FSU vs UF game, the girls crafted ornaments that I saw on Pinterest and wanted to try

They surprised me with an early birthday depression celebration, complete with cake, balloons and gifts!

After 30 years, it's still no surprise that my name is never spelled correctly!  ......sigh......

Kyndall quickly confiscated my balloons and took them for her own

Opening gifts............

I always look forward to getting a new charm for my charm bracelet from Matthew's parents on my birthday!

Kyndall hates to get her hands dirty.  Solution?  Just eat like a dog!!

It was a fun night with our families, despite the fact that the rotten stinky Gators won the football game!

The next morning, we packed up and got on the road around noon to head home.  We figured the traffic would be bad, and boy were we right!!  It was AWFUL!

Thankfully Kyndall did pretty well.  She's such a great traveler and is usually very patient during our frequent trips home.  Probably has something to do with the fact that she's been doing it since she was 5 weeks old!!

At some point I think she sensed our stress and started to get a little fussy.  Lucky for her (and us!), I had made a quick stop by the Dollar Tree the night before and picked up some "prizes" to keep her occupied, just in case!

This $1 foam letter puzzle has proven to be quite the learning tool!  Kyndall now recognizes and accurately names the letters A, B, G, I, X, and Y!  Pretty impressive for a two year old, right?!

Watching movies and playing stickers

And when all else failed, we simply pulled out the "pops"!!  Always a life saver!

By the time we finally made it home, we were all exhausted.  As Matthew and I were putting our team work skills to use unloading the car, I came inside to find Kyndall doing this........

Pretty much sums up how we all felt!!

We had a wonderful 4 days with our families and enjoyed packing in as much fun as possible!  Now, we're excited to have my parents coming up tomorrow to stay through the weekend.  I'm having another medical procedure done on Thursday so it will be nice to have them here to help with Kyndall!  We have some fun things planned like the Festival of Lights on James Island, so I'll be returning next week with lots more pictures to share!  =)

  3. Aww. Love it all. Craft time looked like fun. And, I can't believe how prepared you are for car rides. Mostly, I find that we scream (me and the twins). Haha! Good luck with your procedure Thursday. Prayers to you.
