Our Weekend...

I kicked off this weekend by getting up on Friday at 3:45 a.m. to begin watching the Royal Wedding of William and Kate.  I've been waiting MONTHS for this!  If you know me very well at all, you know that I'm a little bit obsessed with the Royals---particularly Princess Diana.  Secondly, Prince William.  I had a major crush on him as a teenager and just like every other girl in the world, dreamed of being his Princess.  To this day, you will find pictures of Prince William that I cut out of magazines and taped the back of my bedroom door at my parents' house.  There's just something about the Royal family that has always fascinated me.  I wasn't born when Princess Diana and Prince Charles married in 1980, so this was my first Royal wedding experience, and I got to share it with my very own little Princess!  I was literally glued to the TV all day long---from 3:45 a.m. until the time I went to bed that night.  I just couldn't get enough!!  I snapped a few pictures of Kyndall watching, so that she can say she was a part of history!

All decked out for the occasion in her diaper, pink bow and silver beads!

I love these next pictures of her looking up at that famous kiss!

Saturday I left Matthew and Kyndall at home all day while I ran errands and shopped for Mother's Day gifts.  It was nice to get out by myself for a few hours and I think Matthew enjoyed spending time with Kyndall.  He kept texting me cute pictures of her smiling and laughing, so I knew they were having fun.  That night we went to dinner and then shopped for a birthday present for my Dad.

SOOO excited about being able to wear a "real" bow!

Today (Sunday) we went to Kinsley's 1st birthday party!  Kinsley's Daddy Keith worked with Matthew in Fort Myers, and their family recently moved here to Charleston and they're working together again.  Kyndall had a great time at the party and I enjoyed taking notes on all of the cute ideas Heidi had for the party, since in just a few months we'll be doing the same thing!  Hard to believe!!

We had to wake Kyndall up from her nap to leave for the party, so she's not looking too thrilled in this picture

Our gifts for Kinsley

The birthday girl, Miss Kinsley!

"Tweet One"

I was so impressed by this cake that Heidi made, and I loved the bird nest cupcakes!  All just perfect for the birdie themed party!

Kinsley had her very own smash cake...

And this was about as messy as she got!

We had a great weekend, although I'm still trying to recover from getting up at 3:45 a.m. on Friday morning!!  It was worth it though, to say I was one of the many who got up and watched the historic event!  I'm looking forward to next weekend, as we travel to Tallahassee for Kyndall's baby dedication at the church I still call "home".  I'm looking forward to having the extended family all together for such a special day.  It will also be my very first Mother's Day!  Somewhere in the middle of all that excitement, I'm hoping to make a visit to my BFF Betsy's house to meet her brand new sweet baby boy, Elijah!  He was born this past Thursday and I can't wait to get my hands on that little guy!  It will be a wonderful weekend for sure!!

  1. I LOVE the way you captured the pics of the wedding on the TV while getting Kyndall too. I think my favorite is the one where she is looking at the kiss. I can't believe how thick her hair looks too. Can't wait for ya'll to get here this weekend.

    love,

  3. I loved the "wedding pictures"! I wish that I would have thought to have taken my pictures of the twins watching the wedding with the actual TV in the background (instead of focusing on their new "cars").....oh well! At least we can all say that we enjoyed watching history! I was telling the girls at work that I watched so much of it on Friday and over the weekend that I honestly feel like William and Kate are my "friends." I almost missed them when I came back to work yesterday....seriously, like I had said goodbye to my friends and was having withdrawal. I need a life. :)
I love your friend's cake--very impressive. And, of course, Avie and I love a good tutu!
