Each one of our vacation days pretty much started out the same way---Around 7:30, the guys would leave the house to go fishing and the girls would sleep in until around 9:00. Then it was breakfast, beach and then a dip in the pool, before coming in for a late lunch and a nap for the Princess. Tuesday was no exception.........
We had GREAT weather the entire week, with just a few afternoon rain showers here and there. (I'm really counting our blessings, considering there's a TS headed straight towards the island this week!) Anyway, during the few rainy moments that we had, Kyndall enjoyed painting, coloring, playing with play-doh, reading books and watching movies. We came prepared and it paid off!
The guys coming back from fishing.............
My FAVORITE time of day on the beach is in the late afternoon. It's not too hot, there's a nice breeze and you get to enjoy beautiful views like this one.
Matthew and Michael doing what they do
Kyndall woke up from her nap in time to enjoy some late afternoon beach time as well
Like moths to a flame----Where one goes, they ALL go!............
The lighting was so gorgeous that afternoon that I decided it would be the perfect day to take Kelly and Michael's engagement pictures. Kelly was somehow able to talk Michael out of the water and onto land for a few hours and we got some GREAT pictures! I'll share those in a separate post, or you can see them on Kelly's Facebook page.
When we returned from the photo shoot, we enjoyed a yummy dinner prepared by Nonie and Poppie---grilled chicken, mac and cheese, fresh field peas and yeast rolls. Oh, and home-made pound cake for dessert! What's better than going on vacation and having someone else cook dinner for you?? Not much, in my opinion!!
Kyndall had a little bit of a meltdown that night, which is really unusual for her. I'm not really sure what brought it on, but there was no consoling her. None of our usual tricks worked---popsicles, Minnie Mouse, bubbles, stickers.....she wasn't taking the bait. Finally I said "do you want to take a bubble bath WITH Mommy??" She dried those tears right up and said "uh huh!" So, although I really had no desire to get back into a swimsuit, I obliged for the sake of the entire family's sanity!! Looking at these pictures, you'd never know the fit she'd just thrown!
