Passing the TIme........

In an effort to make this week fly by, Kyndall and I have kept ourselves very busy!  It seems to be working, because tomorrow is Wednesday, which means we're just THREE DAYS away from our long-awaited beach vacation!!  Even though I've had a million things to do to prepare for our trip (laundry, packing, list-making, etc.), we've managed to throw in some fun things too!

Monday we met up with our Moms group at the Splash Pad.  Unfortunately, we were only there about an hour before it started thundering, and eventually flooding rain.  Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!

One of the things on my "pre-beach to do list" was to give my toes a fresh coat of paint.  Kyndall seemed very interested, so I decided to see if she'd sit still and let me paint hers.  To my delight, she LOVED it!  She's so proud of her toes and wants to show them to everyone!  We even Skyped with my parents last night just so she could show Grammy and G-Daddy her pink toes.  First pedicure = a success!  Here's to many more!

Today was a rainy, nasty day so I decided it might be a good day to introduce Kyndall to the public library.  The Berkeley County Library is literally in our back yard.  We could easily walk to it, yet we've never even darkened the doors.  I'm not a reader myself, so I guess I just never thought about taking Kyndall.  She's really into books lately, so I thought this would make for a good rainy day outing.  I was right!  She loved it! 

We just need to work on one important concept----being QUIET in the library!  She was so excited that she kept squealing and screeching and I'm sure those around us didn't appreciate it too much.  I told her to "shhhhh" to which she responded "night night??"  We'll work on that one.......

We picked up our first one of these...........

Which allowed us to get 5 items on our first visit.  After we "prove" ourselves as good library members (by returning our 5 items on time), we will be allowed to check out 30 items at a time! 

Kyndall wasn't much help in choosing the books, so I chose a few that happen to be my childhood favorites.  "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" was my all-time favorite book as a kid, and I was happy to see they've now come out with several others including "If you Give a Dog a Donut" and "If you Give a Pig a Pancake".  We've only been home a little while and we've already read them all several times each.

I also picked up a couple of movies for the long car trip to the beach.....
