Beach Vacation Part 7---"So Long Summer"

Friday was our last full day at the beach.  As much as I normally love Fridays, this one was kinda sad because it meant we were one day closer to saying goodbye to our little slice of Paradise.  However, I tried my best not to focus on the looming sadness and resolved to fully enjoy my last day of vacation!
Kyndall and Grammy enjoyed some bonding time on the deck first thing in the morning

I don't know why, but I think she looks SO grown up in this one!!  *tear*

Singing songs with Grammy

Since it was our last day, Matthew decided not to go fishing that morning, and instead spent the day playing with Kyndall in the pool and on the beach

Poppie stayed too, so Kyndall had lots of extra attention!

Kyndall thought it was funny when Matthew went behind the waterfall like this.......

And eventually got brave enough to do it herself!

My baby who HATES to get dirty, was covering herself in beach sand and LOVING it by the end of the week!  Yay!!

Someone's getting sleeeeeeepy!

Our last day on the beach, Kyndall met a friend

It was our last night of vacation, so we got dressed up one more time and took some family pictures.  My Mom wanted an updated one for her house, and Mrs. Jody wanted one for her Christmas card.

I can't share all of Mrs. Jody's pictures because I don't want to spoil her Christmas card.  I tried to choose one that I thought she won't be using (aka one where Kyndall isn't smiling and generally just looks miserable---we had plenty of those!!)

After pictures, we went out to dinner one last time.  This night, it was the Blue Parrot--Yummy!!

Clearly, our waiter has no future in photography.  Oh well, at least Mom is in focus even if the rest of us aren't!  Keep your day job, buddy!

And here's where things got a little crazy.  Remember how I told you I took 1,388 pictures?  Well MOST of those came from this next series of pictures.  After dinner, I dressed Kyndall up in her flamingo dress that I'd been saving for her ALL summer!  I had envisioned this moment since the second I saw the dress hanging in the store.  I wanted shots of her dancing on the beach and playing in the water's edge in just the right light.  Thankfully, my dream became a reality as the lighting was GORGEOUS as the sun went down and I got some precious images of her that I'll cherish forever!  Here's just a small sampling of what I got.  It'll probably seem like a lot to you (and it is!), but it's only a fraction of what I actually took.  I know.......I need some sort of intervention!  But, I was having fun playing with the settings on my camera and before I knew it, I had more pictures than I ever intended and almost all of them were keepers!

Doing "ballet" on the beach  *LOVE*!

My little beauty!  LOVE this one!

And just like that, our week long beach vacation came to a close.  I didn't even take any pictures on Saturday, because we had to check out by 11 a.m. and our entire morning was spent packing up.  Booo.  We had a wonderful week and made some lifelong memories that we'll cherish forever!  We were especially happy to be there the night that Michael proposed to Kelly!  What a special memory for us all!

Until next year, so long summer!

  2. Ashleigh-Anne, you really could have a side job in photophraphy! Those flamingo dress pictures look like pictures you pay someone to take, they are beautiful!! I love all the pictures with the stormy sky in the background too, it captures hurricane season in Florida very well! After reading all of your posts, you have succeeding in making me long for a week-long beach vacation! :) Are you guys doing SGI again next year or do you like to mix it up?
