On Monday, Kyndall and I made a visit to my friend Laura's house to meet her new baby girl Brinley and let Kyndall and Lily Kate have some play time. It was a little bit crazy with three kids under the age of two, not to mention it was lunch time then nap time for Lily Kate! Laura and I got to catch up a little, but mostly we just tried to keep the peace! She had this sweet gift waiting for Kyndall when we arrived. Always so thoughtful!
This is the ONLY picture I got from our play date---That should give you an idea of where our priorities were! I didn't even get a picture of sweet Brinley!
But, here is the beautiful birth announcement that Laura gave me!
And this HILARIOUS Halloween card! I love it!!
We had a good time and it was great meeting sweet Brinley and seeing Laura and LK again!
Later that afternoon, I took Kyndall outside in hopes of getting some practice in with my new found photography skills. Mostly, I wanted to practice metering the light. I shot all of the following pictures on manual, but I'm less than pleased with how they turned out. For some reason, they all looked very grey to me, so I had to use my editing software to adjust the temperature and saturation. Even after editing, I don't like the way they look. Robin?? Kris?? Betsy??? Any tips?!
My ISO was WAY too high on this one, but I still loved the expression on her face!
On Tuesday, we took it easy and didn't even leave the house until later that night. Kyndall acted like she was getting a cold, so we just hung out at the house and enjoyed some fresh air outside. Again, I took advantage of this time and tried my hand at the manual settings on my camera. I'm a little more pleased with these than I was the others, but I still had to do some editing because I felt like they looked too grey. Oh the frustration!!!
Who is this cooperative child and what have you done with my defiant toddler?! She's NEVER posed for me like this before!!
I guess the cooperation can only last so long........
Doing "ballet"
Isn't she graceful?? =)
Tree hugger....????
Later that night, we met up with some old friends from church for dinner. Kyndall looked adorable in her little sweater dress, so I couldn't resist one more practice session!
Honestly, what did I do to deserve such cooperation?!?! Look at those hands and feet! Perfectly placed!
This post was probably pretty boring to most, but I'm hoping that my photography buddies can help me out! I know that practice makes perfect, but in this case practice also makes frustration!! Now I know why Auto has been my best friend all these years!
love the 'ballet' shots and the wild woman hair!!! The shots on the stairs were really good!! Keep em coming....

I love the pictures and love her sweater dress. Ava needs one, too. Great job on the picture taking!
ReplyDeleteDoubt I'll be much help here...I can only tell you that shooting in the shade sometimes makes my pictures dull and I "fix" it with editing as well. You're doing a great job practicing though!!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks for including us in your post! :) Thank you for visiting us in my chaotic house, I always feel like I could chat with you for hours! Next time, Lily promises to wear clothes, lol. It is always such a treat to see sweet Kyndall! She is so adorable and funny. I love the pictures you took of Kyndall outside...what a great little personality she has! Love her fall wardrobe too! ;)
