10 Years Already?!?!

This past weekend I attended my 10 year Lincoln High School class of 2001 reunion.  It was a blast!!!  Let me first start by saying that I loved high school!  Although I'm happy with how far I've come in 10 years, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to go back and re-live some of my high school days.  High school was where I met many of my very best friends and where so many of my best memories were made.  Looking back, I can honestly say I'm proud of the person I was 10 years ago.  I have no regrets about my high school years at all.  So many people wish they could go back and change things, but I wouldn't.  I made good grades, made good choices, and still had fun.  I'm still the same person that I was back then, I just look a little different and I have a new last name.  (OK, I look a LOT different, and thank goodness for that!)  That being said, I was anxious to see how much everyone else had changed.

We started out with a family picnic at Tom Brown Park on Saturday morning.  I was sort of in charge of this event, so I arrived early to set up and make sure everything was taken care of.  Despite the rain, we still had a good turn out and I LOVED meeting everyone's adorable children!!!!

Here we are, just before heading to the picnic....

Since it was a picnic, Kyndall wore her watermelon outfit

Koby enjoyed making (and eating) home-made ice cream in a bag!

Watching the rain fall......

We had crafts for the kids, and one of them was graduation flags.  How cute are these kiddos??

Just in case you didn't notice in the picture above, take a look at my little one with her feet up in the air!!!  We'll have to work on being more lady like in the future!!

After the picnic, we went up to the school for a tour of the "new and improved" Lincoln High School.  I was really excited about this, as I haven't walked those halls since I left in 2001!  I was also excited to show Matthew where I spent my high school days, since we didn't grow up in the same town.  They really have done a lot of updating to the school and everything looks great.  But, in my mind I will always remember and love it the way it was.

This was Kyndall's expression as we toured the boys locker room.  It's almost like she knew she wasn't supposed to be in there!!  =)

I wish more of my friends had taken the tour at the same time I did so that we could have re-created this picture more accurately.  Every morning before school, me and all of my girlfriends would gather on the "bridge" for morning chit chat and socializing, before beginning our day.  It was our spot and everyone knew it.  It was something that I looked forward to everyday.  Usually, the conversation revolved around the latest gossip, or us quizzing each other for an upcoming test that we had that day.  Dorks? Maybe.  But we sure made some good memories in that spot!  I wish I could track down an old picture for comparison's sake, but nonetheless, here's me and Betsy on the bridge 10 years later.

This Mommy would love nothing more than to have a future Lincoln Trojan!

Saturday night, Grammy and GDaddy babysat Kyndall while Matthew and I attended the night event.  It was held at the FSU Alumni Center, which is where Matthew and I had our wedding reception 3 years ago.

Dressed up and ready for a fun night

Gone but not forgotten......LHS classmates that are no longer with us

Friends since middle school!!!

More middle school buddies.....

We had a great time and I'm so glad I went!  It was so fun seeing so many familiar faces and catching up on old times.  Some things never change!

And now, just for laughs, take a look at a few of the pictures I submitted for the reunion slideshow!

We've come a long way, Betsy!!!  We shared a love for many things, but apparently bangs was one of them!  (She'll probably kill me for this!)

Thanks to all who helped put this reunion weekend together!  I'm already looking forward to the next one!!!  Although, I hope I don't have to wait another 10 years before I see some of you again!
