On Friday, Matthew had to work, so we all slept in and hung out around the house that day. My sister and I did a little shopping and ran some errands while I took advantage of the free babysitting, and Grammy and GDaddy took advantage of some Kyndall time! That night, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at one of our favorite places, Yokoso Japanese Steakhouse.
On Saturday, Matthew, my Dad and myself all went to the shooting range to cash in on their Father's Day gifts. If you remember from my previous post, I gave both of them vouchers for this as their Father's Day presents, with the agreement that I would go along too and let them show me the ins and outs of how to use a gun. To say I was anxious would be an extreme understatement. I've never been a fan of guns, loud noises, or anything dangerous for that matter. So this was a big thing for me to do. I walked in and was more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. There were guns firing off all around me and people milling around like they knew what they were doing, when in reality they could have very well been just as inexperienced as I was! Once I quit over-analyzing the possible dangers of the situation I had found myself in, I actually enjoyed it! I even figured out how to load my own ammunition and before long, I was looking like I had actually done this before. See......
Bonnie and Clyde.....Ha!
Proud of this shot!!
Saturday afternoon we hung out around the house and Kelly played "dress up" with Kyndall and took lots of cute pictures of her on my camera. She loves going through her closet and deciding what to dress her in, just like her very own baby doll!
When I saw the picture above, I couldn't help but remember THIS picture, which seems like just yesterday........

Kyndall loved playing with GDaddy's hat
Matthew grilled out BBQ chicken that night and we enjoyed a yummy dinner here at the house. On Sunday morning the guys got up REALLY early and left to go play golf, and the girls slept in a little bit before heading out on our own adventure for the day.
We left just before lunchtime and ventured into downtown Charleston for a day of fun! We started out with lunch at Red's Ice House on Shem Creek......
Here's what all those kayakers are looking at......
Next, we were off to the South Carolina Aquarium! We've lived here for three years and we've never been. It was such a neat place and Kyndall loved it!!! We ended up buying a family pass so that we can go anytime we want to over the next year. I'm looking forward to taking Kyndall as she gets older and can really enjoy it!
Kyndall wore her new fishy outfit just for the occasion!
Kyndall made herself comfortable and enjoyed her lunch.....
Kyndall made friends with this little cutie while looking at one of the fish tanks......
Kyndall especially seemed to love the stingrays......
The main attraction right now is this rare albino alligator named Alabaster, who is on loan to the aquarium for a while. I could only think of one thing the whole time I looked at him, and that was the voice of Troy saying "Choot 'em Lizabeth, choooot 'em!" (For my fellow Swamp People fans, you'll know what I'm talking about!)
Little Missy passed out just before we left and took a nice nap in the stroller while we enjoyed the view of the Charleston harbor on the deck of the aquarium.....
By the time we got back home, Matthew and my Dad had long returned from their golf game and were ready to start our dinner plans. My Dad made a low country boil for us, which is something our family LOVES! Corn on the cob, shrimp, potatoes and sausage all in one! Yumm--o!
While we chowed down, Kyndall entertained herself with these cheap, glitter-filled bracelets I bought her at the Aquarium. Best 4 bucks I've spent in a while!!
After dinner I had my Mom snap a few pictures of us in our matching 4th of July t-shirts, before we cut open the watermelon and enjoyed some neighborhood fireworks from the driveway.
I love these next few pictures of Kyndall with Grammy and GDaddy!!!
Enjoying the fireworks......
Can you find Kyndall under the mosquito net?
My Mom's dog Albert pretty much sums up how we all felt after our busy but FUN day!!
This morning we all had breakfast together before my family packed up and headed back to Tallahassee. We were sad to see them go as always, but we had a GREAT four days together! I'll be seeing them again in exactly one week when Kyndall and I make the trip down to Tallahassee and stay with them for two whole weeks!!! Can't wait! After our company was gone and the house was quiet and boring again, the three of us just spent the afternoon enjoying Kyndall's very first 4th of July.
Still loving those glitter bracelets.......
Sharing with her brother Huckabee.....
I hope that everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July!! A big thank you to my family for all of your help and all of your "treats" this weekend!!! We enjoyed having you and can't wait to see you in a week!!
awwwwwww.........loved this blog!!!! Can't decide which pic to make my profile pic!!!! We had so much fun and can't wait for you to get here!!!!!

AA,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE all of the pictures. I think that my favorite is the one of your mom "throwing" Kyndall in the air. Love all of them. Looks like you had a great time! We love Red's...as a matter of fact, I had a birthday party for Rhett at Red's (they were doggie friendly at the time) and invited all of my law school friends with dogs to come and celebrate.
