Homeward Bound!

Tomorrow, Kyndall and I will be leaving South Carolina and heading to Tallahassee! We're leaving Matthew behind, but he'll be joining us Friday night when he drives down for the weekend to be there for my 10 year high school reunion. Then he'll leave us behind and we'll stay another week, so that I can host Lindsay's wedding shower the following weekend. So that makes TWO WHOLE WEEKS that Kyndall and I will be in Tallahassee! I am so excited! I have lunch/dinner plans and play dates literally almost every day, and I haven't even made it into town yet! So many people to see and so many things I want to do, that I had to write it all down. Just take a look at how full my two weeks already are.....

I spent all of today packing, packing, packing! Packing for a baby for two weeks means taking pretty much everything in the whole house, or so it seems. Here's Kyndall's load, and this is just clothes, shoes and hairbows! This doesn't include baby food, formula, bottles, sippy cups, toys, diapers, wipes, a stroller etc. etc.!!!

Thankfully, Matthew isn't going to work until after we leave tomorrow morning, so he'll be here to help me put all of this stuff in the car! I'm hoping to get on the road by 10:30 a.m. at the latest, which should put me in Tallahassee by 5:30 p.m. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you while I'm there!! Here's a few pictures to hold you over until next week!

Matthew and I met on a blind date in the summer of 2006. By March of 2007 we were engaged and then married in April of 2008 in Tallahassee, FL. Shortly after, Matthew's job moved us to Charleston, South Carolina and on September 20th, 2010 we were blessed with our first child, Kyndall Anne Hughes. She is a true miracle and words cannot express the joy that she has brought into our lives! In January of 2013, Matthew's job moved us once again--This time to Jackson, TN. Much of our lives revolve around my health issues and we are no strangers to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. I have a rare autoimmune disorder called PSC in which my own body attacks my liver and other healthy organs. The only cure is a liver transplant. Our lives were forever changed when I received my miracle on September 16, 2014. On this day I was given the gift of life as a precious donor's wish was fulfilled and therefore my life sustained. My life will never be the same and I am eternally grateful to this person, though I know nothing about them. I hope to someday have a face and a name to go along with my gift. In the meantime I will continue to be a strong advocate for organ donation, sharing my story with anyone who will listen. In August of 2016 my husband accepted a promotion to Dallas, Texas which is now where we reside. I am a dental hygienist by occupation, but I am blessed to be living my true lifelong dream of being a stay-home-Mom. I couldn't make it through my day without my camera, my chapstick, a cold Coke Icee and at least one phone call to my Mama. We enjoy the simple things in life: Family, friends, and our faith. We strive to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God and we daily thank HIM for all we have been given! We hope that you enjoy reading about our simple everyday joys, our trials and our adventures as we share them periodically with you through this blog!
